For the development of sociology of religion as a science, important processes have been passed. In this context, Weber, who has been shown to be one of the founders of systematic sociology in general and systematic sociology of religion in particular, has made efforts for the formation and improvement of the sociology of systematic religion. Considering the mutual relationship between religion and society in an economic context, Weber thought that the nature of social reality is hidden in the relationship between ethic and economics. Weber, who explores the origins of economic development and capitalist system as a phenomenon that directs society, emphasized the importance of religion in social development. This is a theoretical analysis of the influence of Max Weber on the formation of sociology of systematic religion. The aim of the study is to understand Weber's contributions to the systematic sociology of religion. For this purpose, the authors aim to contribute to the understanding of Weber's unique aspects in sociology of religion. Even though there are studies in the literature that focus on Weber's contribution to sociology and sociology of religion, this article also contributes to studies examining Weber's influence on the development of systematic sociology of religion. It is hoped that the study will fill an important gap in the literature and contribute to the field of sociology of religion.
