About

Journal of Children’s Literature and Language Education is a bilingual (English–Turkish), international peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles and critical book reviews in the fields of children’s literature and language education. Established in May 2018, the journal aims to advance scholarly work at the intersection of childhood, textuality, literacy, and teacher education, embracing both theoretical and applied perspectives.

The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches that consider children’s literature not only as a literary genre but also as a pedagogical, cultural, and social practice. It welcomes contributions on topics such as multimodal narratives, multilingual literacy practices, teachers’ engagement with children’s books, and the transformation of literature in educational contexts. Each issue also features a critical review of a contemporary children’s book, fostering dialogue between academic research and current literary production.

As of 2026, the Journal of Children’s Literature and Language Education has adopted a continuous publication model. Accordingly, manuscripts that successfully complete the peer-review and editorial processes are published online immediately, without waiting for assignment to a scheduled issue.
