Dr Hasan Harmancı completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Economics (English) at Istanbul University between 2011 and 2015. He received his MSc in International Trade, Strategy, and Operations from the University of Warwick in 2016–2017. From 2018 to 2022, he pursued doctoral studies in International Business at the University of St Andrews, where he completed his PhD with a dissertation entitled “A Holistic Approach to Internationalization: Motives, Enablers, and Patterns of Emerging Market SMEs.”

Dr Harmancı commenced his academic career as a tutor at the University of St Andrews, serving in this role from 2018 to 2020. He is currently a Lecturer (PhD) in the Department of Economics at the Akçakoca Bey Faculty of Political Sciences, Düzce University.

She graduated from the Computer Programming Department of Boğaziçi University in 1996. Between 2000 and 2009, she worked as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist at the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. In 2010, she completed her master’s degree in the Urban Systems and Transportation Management program at Bahçeşehir University with high honors, and in 2017, she earned her PhD with high honors from Marmara University in the Department of Local Governments, Subdivision of Local Administrations and Decentralization.

Between 2014 and 2015, she served as a researcher at the Foundation for Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA), and between 2016 and 2017, she worked as the Director of the Scientific Research Unit at Yeşilay General Headquarters. In 2018, she began her appointment as a faculty member in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at the Akçakoca Bey Faculty of Political Sciences, Düzce University. She currently serves as the Head of the Public Policy Division.

Between 15 November 2021 and 2 February 2022, she conducted research at Southern University and A&M College in the United States on “IoT Technologies in Smart Cities: Privacy and Security Principles.” On 11 August 2022, she was awarded the title of Associate Professor in the field of Local Governments, Urban and Environmental Policies.

Her research interests include local governments, urban and environmental policies, public policies, metropolitan governance, urban systems, smart cities, urban refugee studies, and migration policies.

Dr. Joseph J. Kaminski received his PhD in Political Science from Purdue University in 2014 and currently holds the rank of Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the International University of Sarajevo in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is also a Research Associate at the Ummatics Institute. His current research interests include religion and politics, comparative political theory, and new approaches to Islam and public reason. He has a solo-authored article forthcoming in The Journal of Politics as well as numerous peer-reviewed articles appearing in journals such as PS: Political Science and Politics, Social Compass, Thunderbird International Business Review, and Religious Studies Review. He is also the author of two manuscripts: The Contemporary Islamic Governed State: A Reconceptualization (Palgrave, 2017) and Islam, Liberalism, and Ontology: A Critical Re-evaluation (Routledge, 2021).

He has served as an assistant specialist at the Prime Ministry Family Research Institution, Vice President at the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency, Vice President at the Competition Authority, Vice President at ÖSYM, and chair and member of various boards and commissions within the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK). He is the team leader of the Turkey Referencing Report, which references Turkey's general, vocational, and academic education systems with European frameworks. His primary interests include the reform of the financial system and economic development, social policy, poverty, and the higher education system. Currently, Toprak is a faculty member at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University and President of the Istanbul Social Enterprise Association.

My research interests include management, organizational behavior, leadership, applied psychology, sociology, personality traits, motivation, health care management, and personal financial management/literacy. These themes are integral components of the courses I lecture, particularly Organizational Behavior (OB), where I always seek to incorporate contemporary research findings and case studies to employee behavior, motivation, job satisfaction, employee engagement and the organizational commitment. Within the subject Research Methods in Business, significant amount of my teaching is grounded in my own experience as an author of Web of Science and Scopus databases' journal publications and as a researcher in international, multi-country projects, which I use to guide students through real-world research design, data collection, and analysis.

Prof. Dr. Bülend Aydın Ertekin is an academic conducting interdisciplinary studies in the fields of communication sciences, political science, public administration, international relations, and media studies. He currently serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Anadolu University. His academic work focuses on international relations, political communication, public diplomacy, media ethics, globalization, international systems, political science, and public administration.

He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Political Science and Law at Université du Québec à Montréal in Canada, specializing primarily in International Relations during his studies. He received his master’s degree in the field of public administration. He earned his Ph.D. in International Relations from Istanbul University and completed a second doctoral degree in Journalism at Anadolu University. His academic expertise is based on a multidisciplinary approach that combines political science, public administration, international relations, and communication sciences. He is fluent in French and English, has intermediate proficiency in Spanish, and possesses basic knowledge of Arabic, Italian, and Russian.

Ertekin began his academic career in the Department of International Relations at Kocaeli University. He later served at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of Anadolu University as lecturer, assistant professor, associate professor, and professor. Throughout his academic career, he has held various administrative positions including dean, vice dean, Erasmus Institutional Coordinator, and Mevlana Exchange Program Coordinator. Between 2021 and 2025, he served as the Dean of the Faculty of Communication Sciences at Anadolu University.

In addition to his academic career, Ertekin has also worked in the private sector. He served as Education and Social Affairs Coordinator at Dupont de Nemours–Sabancı Holding and as North Africa Regional Manager and Foreign Trade Coordinator at DEPA Foreign Trade. These experiences contributed to integrating his academic knowledge with practical and professional experience.

Prof. Dr. Ertekin’s research focuses on media and democracy relations, political culture, international politics, public diplomacy, globalization, media ethics, and political communication. He has published numerous academic articles, conference papers, and scholarly studies at national and international levels. In addition to supervising graduate theses, he continues his academic and scientific research activities.
