The effect of Chorioamnionitis on Perinatal and Neonatal Outcomes

Abstract

Preterm birth is a one of the important causes of neonatal morbidity and mortality. Chorioamnionitis is a major risk factor of preterm birth. Due to heterogeneity between studies are difficult to evaluate the neonatal outcome. In addition, due to improvements in perinatal and neonatal care over the years the effects of chorioamnionitis on neonatal outcomes have become less evident. Histologic chorioamnionitis is associated with a reduction of incidence and severity of respiratory distress syndrome. However, eventually contributing to an increased risk of bronchopulmonary dysplasia. Also chorioamnionitis has been shown a risk factor for neonatal sepsis, cystic periventricular leukomalacia, white matter disease, cerebral palsy, and intraventricular hemorrhage.

Koryoamniyonitin Perinatal ve Neonatal Sonuçlar Üzerine Etkisi

Abstract

Prematüre doğum neonatal morbidite ve mortalitenin en önemli nedenlerinden biridir. Koryoamniyonit spontan prematüre doğum için majör risk faktörüdür. Çalışmalar arasındaki heterojenlik nedeniyle neonatal sonuçların değerlendirilmesi zordur. Yıllar içinde perinatal ve neonatal bakımdaki iyileşmeler nedeniyle koryoamniyonitin neonatal sonuçlar üzerine etkisi de daha az belirgin hale gelmiştir. Histolojik koryoamniyonit respiratuar distres sendromunun sıklık ve şiddetinin azalması ile ilişkilidir. Bununla birlikte uzun dönemde bronkopulmoner displazi sıklığını arttırmaktadır. Ayrıca koryoamniyonit erken neonatal sepsis, kistik periventriküler lökomalazi, beyaz cevher hasarı, serebral palsi ve intraventriküler hemoraji için bir risk faktörüdür.
