This research is a study organized according to the survey model, based on quantitative methods. It was conducted to describe the current situation based on the views of primary school administrators regarding peer bullying cases. The study group consists of 212 school administrators working in official primary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education in the Şahinbey district of Gaziantep province. A purposive sampling method was used to select the sample. The "Questionnaire for Determining the Views of Primary School Administrators on Peer Bullying," developed by the researchers, was used as a data collection tool. In the analysis of the data, the frequency and percentage values of the responses to the survey questions were reported. The research results revealed that school administrators mostly defined peer bullying as verbal attacks, such as mocking, insulting, and belittling. According to the administrators, the most common cause of peer bullying is domestic problems. Physical bullying is the most frequently observed type of bullying in schools. Administrators indicated that students subjected to bullying tend to have low self-confidence, while the perpetrators often exhibit such behavior to demonstrate power. It was found that administrators primarily used one-on-one interviews to handle bullying cases. The study concluded that the biggest obstacle to addressing bullying cases is resistance from students and parents. Administrators emphasize the importance of cooperation among students, teachers, and families to prevent bullying and highlight the need for expert support. In this context, providing support to schools is essential to reduce bullying cases.
Bu araştırma, ilkokullarda görev yapan okul yöneticilerinin okullarda yaşanan akran zorbalığı vakalarına ilişkin görüşlerini ortaya koyan genel tarama modelinde bir çalışmadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini Gaziantep'in Şahinbey ilçesindeki devlet ilkokullarında görev yapan 212 okul yöneticisi oluşturmaktadır.
