Artvin İlinde Yetişen Bazı Tarım Ürünlerinde Radyoaktivite Seviyelerinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Artvin ilinde yetiştirilen bazı tarım ürünlerinde (lahana, patates, fasulye ve mısır) doğal ve yapay radyasyon seviyeleri belirlenmiştir. Artvin ilini temsil edecek şekilde mısır ve fasulyeden 24’er adet, patates ve lahanadan ise 15’er adet olmak üzere toplam 78 adet numune toplanmıştır. Toplanan tarım ürünleri, Canberra marka GX5020 model HPGe dedektör içeren gama spektrometre sayım sistemi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analiz sonucu tarım ürünü örneklerinin içerdiği 226Ra, 232Th ve 40K doğal radyonüklitlerin ve fisyon ürünü olan yapay 137Cs radyoizotopun aktivite konsantrasyonları belirlenmiştir. Mısır için bu ortalama aktivite değerleri sırasıyla; 9.5, 12.7, 279.0, 23.5 Bq/kg, patates için sırasıyla; 11.7, 12.9, 307.9, 32.5 Bq/kg, fasulye için sırasıyla; 10.7, 16.3, 392.5, 41.1 Bq/kg ve lahana için sırasıyla; 25.9, 36.3, 486.5, 15.4 Bq/kg olarak bulunmuştur. Elde edilen veriler dünya üzerinde farklı yerlerde yapılan benzer çalışmalar ve UNSCEAR referans değerleri ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Bu çalışmada elde edilen 226Ra ve 232Th ortalama aktivite sonuçlarının UNSCEAR referans değerlerinden yüksek çıkmıştır. Son olarak tarım ürünlerindeki radyoaktivite düzeylerinin dağılımı, belirli bir renk skalasında haritalandırılarak gösterilmiştir.

Determination of Radioactivity Levels in Some Agricultural Products in Artvin Province

Abstract

In this study, natural and artificial radiation levels of some agricultural products (cabbage, potato, bean and corn) grown in Artvin province were determined. A total of 78 samples were collected from 24 pieces of corn and beans and 15 from potato and cabbage. The collected agricultural products were analyzed using a gamma spectrometer counting system including Canberra GX5020 HPGe detector. The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K natural radionuclides and fission product artificial 137Cs radioisotope were determined. For corn, these average activity values are respectively; 9.5, 12.7, 279.0, 23.5 Bq/kg, respectively for potato; 11.7, 12.9, 307.9, 32.5 Bq/kg, respectively for bean; 10.7, 16.3, 392.5, 41.1 Bq/kg and for cabbage respectively; 25.9, 36.3, 486.5, 15.4 Bq/kg. The data obtained were compared with similar studies in different places in the world and the reference values of UNSCEAR. The results of 226Ra and 232Th average activity results obtained in this study were higher than UNSCEAR reference values. Finally, the distribution of radioactivity levels in agricultural products is shown by mapping on a specific color scale.
