Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Ethical standards for publication exist to ensure high-quality scientific publications, public confidence in scientific findings, and respect for people's opinions. The JMAPS journal expects the author(s), reviewers and editors to comply with the principles of ethical rules throughout the publication period of the article.
Plagiarism
JMAPS journal undertakes to publish studies that have not been published elsewhere and/or are not under review elsewhere. Articles found to be plagiarized will be subject to plagiarism sanctions. In addition, the plagiarism control of the articles will be checked using Ithenticate, which is subscribed by Artvin Coruh University. Similarity rate of manuscripts. Studies with a similarity rate of more than 20% are rejected without being reviewed.
Duplicate Submission
Articles found to be published/under evaluation elsewhere will be subject to duplicate publication sanctions. When authors use their work to be published as the basis for their previous publications, they must both refer to their previous work and state that the submitted work presents new contributions that differ from the previous one.
Citation Manipulation
In order to increase the number of citations, citation sanctions will be applied to the submitted article when the existence of citations to a particular author's work or to articles published in a particular journal is detected.
Data Fabrication and Falsification
Data fabrication and falsification sanctions will be applied to articles in which experimental result fabrication and image manipulation are detected.
Improper Author Contribution
All authors (including students and laboratory technicians) in the study submitted for evaluation must have contributed to the study and must have accepted and confirmed all their claims.
Redundant Publications
It is the inappropriate division of study results into several articles.
Sanctions
For documented violations of any of the above-mentioned policies, the following sanctions will apply:
• The infringing manuscript will be rejected.
• All new submissions with the authors of the infringing manuscript are prohibited. This ban will be enforced for at least 36 months.
• Authors are prohibited from taking part in the editorial board of the journal.
The publisher reserves the right to impose different additional sanctions in cases where violations of the mentioned policies are more serious.
Responsibilities of the Author(s):
• The author(s) must guarantee the originality of the data in the article.
• The manuscript (references, etc.) must comply with the format rules of the journal.
• The manuscript must be free of plagiarism and false data.
• Author(s) should not publish the research in more than one journal.
Responsibilities of Reviewer(s):
• Reviewings have to be done neutrally.
• There must be no conflicts of interest between reviewer(s) and authors.
• Reviewer(s) must state deficiencies in terms of work, citation, rules, etc. related to the article.
• Reviewed material should not be shared or discussed with anyone outside of the review process.
Responsibilties of Editor(s):
• Editor(s) have the right to accept or decline manuscript. They have to use this responsibility in a timely way that conforms with publishing schedules.
• Editor(s) should avoid conflicts of interest in accepting or declining manucript.
• Editor(s) should only accept manuscript that are original and contribute to the field of the journal.
• Editor(s) should enable authors to make corrections to their work after receiving requests for revision (thus enabling publication) or to withdraw their articles before or after any requests for revision are made.
• The editor(s) will ensure that articles will be assessed by at least two referees according to the double-blind peer review process.
• Editor(s) will work with “Ithenticate” plagiarism software to determine if articles and authentic and original.
