Although the Covid 19 epidemic caused the deaths of more 2,5 million people in the world, a huge increase in unemployment and great welfare losses, it did not slow down. Also pandemic has increased the budget deficit and public debt, deteriorate the financial equilibrium of social security institutions, increased the account deficit, reduced the official reserves and increased the exchange rate in Turkey. To minimize the destructive effects of Covid 19 and similar pandemics, and to catch up with developed countries, there is transformation needed in Turkish economy. This transformation can be in industry 4.0, digitalization, food safety, zakat agency, healthcare and flexible working. For example, industry 4.0 and digitalization will both protect against the pandemic by minimizing the human factor and accelerate economic development with increased productivity, quality and competitiveness.
