Havacılık Güvenlik Kültürünün Karar Verme Stilleri Üzerine Etkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, havacılık güvenlik kültürünün, havacılık sektöründe görev yapan çalışanların karar verme stilleri üzerindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Güvenlik kültürü, üç alt boyut; yönetim sistemleri, liderlik özellikleri ve çalışan davranışları çerçevesinde ele alınmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Antalya Gazipaşa-Alanya Havalimanı’nda görev yapan çeşitli pozisyonlardaki havacılık çalışanları oluşturmakta olup, veriler 2025 yılı mayıs ayında anket yöntemiyle toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler nicel analiz teknikleri aracılığıyla değerlendirilmiş; betimsel istatistikler, bağımsız örneklem t-testi, tek yönlü ANOVA, korelasyon ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analiz bulguları, çalışanların genel olarak güvenlik kültürüne ilişkin olumlu algılar taşıdığını ve bu algıların karar verme stillerini istatistiksel olarak anlamlı şekilde etkilediğini ortaya koymuştur. Regresyon sonuçlarına göre, özellikle yönetim sistemleri boyutu karar verme stilleri üzerinde pozitif ve anlamlı bir etki göstermekte olup, liderlik özellikleri ve çalışan davranışları boyutlarının etkilerinin istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Bu bulgular, havacılıkta güvenliğin yalnızca teknik uygulamalarla değil, aynı zamanda yapısal yönetim sistemleri aracılığıyla örgütsel kültür ve bireysel karar mekanizmaları ile de şekillendiğini ortaya koymaktadır. Araştırma, havacılık kuruluşlarında güvenlik kültürünün güçlendirilmesinin sadece operasyonel güvenliği değil, aynı zamanda çalışanların karar alma süreçlerini de geliştirebileceğini göstermekte ve uygulayıcılara yönelik çeşitli stratejik öneriler sunmaktadır.

The Effect of Aviation Security Culture on Decision-Making Styles

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of aviation security culture on the decision-making styles of employees working in the aviation sector. Security culture is examined through three sub-dimensions: management systems, leadership characteristics, and employee behaviors. The sample of the study consists of aviation personnel working in various positions at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport in Antalya, and the data were collected through a questionnaire in May 2025. The collected data were analyzed using quantitative analysis techniques, including descriptive statistics, independent samples t-test, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that employees generally have positive perceptions of the security culture and that these perceptions significantly affect their decision-making styles. According to the regression results, the management systems dimension has a positive and statistically significant impact on decision-making styles, while the effects of leadership characteristics and employee behaviors were found to be statistically insignificant. These findings suggest that security in aviation is shaped not only through technical practices but also through structural management systems that influence organizational culture and individual decision-making mechanisms. The study demonstrates that strengthening the security culture in aviation organizations can enhance not only operational security but also the decision-making processes of employees, and it offers strategic recommendations for practitioners.
