In the Yenisey Inscriptions, the word with
the spelling KẄRTL in E-10/5
and KẄRTLA in E-52/1 has been
rendered by various researchers as körtläl,
kört äl, kürt el, körtlä, kürtlä, kürtütül and has been given different meanings to it. The present
work emphasizes that the word should be read as körtlä based on etymological and semantic evidences.
