Author Guidelines

Dear Author,
When submitting your article to us, we require five documents from you. You need to transfer your article into the template provided by using the full-text manuscript file, ensuring it adheres to the journal's writing guidelines. Pay attention to sections marked in red in the template, as they should not be altered. When pasting text into the template, use the “keep text only” command. A maximum of 5 JEL (Journal of Economic Literature) classification codes should be provided. Secondly, the article cover template must be fully completed with the authors' and the article's information. The third required document is the article submission form. This form must be completed in full, signed by the authors with a wet signature, and scanned before submission. Fourth, if your article requires Ethics Committee Approval, you must submit the approval, or if it does not, fill out and submit the Ethics Committee Exemption Declaration Form. Finally, upload the similarity report (iThenticate, Turnitin, etc.) as an additional file when submitting your article. Below are the links to the relevant documents:

WRITING GUIDELINES

1. Articles must be prepared using the journal article template in "MS Office Word 2010" or a later version, in A4 size. The length should be at least 6000 words and must not exceed 30 pages in the journal format. The page layout should be as follows: Top: 5 cm, Bottom: 2.5 cm, Left: 2.5 cm, and Right: 2.5 cm.

2. Except for the title page, the article should be written in 10-point “Times New Roman” font with single line spacing. A space must be left after commas and periods. No indentation should be used at the beginning of paragraphs, and there should be 6 pt space before and after paragraphs. No additional blank lines should be left between paragraphs.

3. On the title page, the Turkish and English titles should be written in 11-point font, with single line spacing and 3 pt spacing before and after paragraphs. The abstract, both in Turkish and English, should be a single paragraph of 120 to 200 words in 9-point font. Additionally, 3 to 5 keywords should be provided in both Turkish and English, along with up to 5 JEL (Journal of Economic Literature) classification codes. For articles written in English, the title, abstract, keywords, and JEL classification codes should first be provided in English, followed by Turkish.

4. Main and subheadings should be bold and left-aligned (without indentation) and numbered in decimal format (e.g., 1., 1.1., 1.1.1., 1.1.2., 1.1.2.1.). Numbering should begin with the "Introduction" and continue to the "Conclusion" without opening subheadings under these sections. All letters in the main headings should be capitalized, while only the first letters of subheadings should be capitalized. There should be no blank lines before or after the main and subheadings. However, 12 pt space before and 6 pt space after should be left for main headings.

5. All tables and figures should be centered on the page and placed in appropriate sections of the text. Each table and figure should have a sequential number in bold font (e.g., Table 1., Figure 2.) and a title in regular font. The title should be centered above the table or figure, with only the first letters of words capitalized, in 10-point font, with 6 pt space before and after. The text within tables and figures should be in Times New Roman font, between 8-9 points, and single-spaced. All visuals such as graphs, charts, maps, drawings, and photographs should be classified as figures. Tables should only have horizontal lines, and vertical lines should not be used. All tables and figures should be easy to read and conform to the page layout. Explanations and sources for tables and figures should be provided below them, in 8-point font, with 3 pt space before and after. No blank lines should be left before or after tables and figures.

6. In Turkish articles, commas should be used as the decimal separator, while periods should be used in English articles. For thousands separators, periods should be used in Turkish articles and commas in English articles. Numbers between 0-9 in the article text should be written in words, while numbers 10 and above should be written in digits.

7. Equations, models, and formulas should be left-aligned, numbered sequentially, and the numbers should be right-aligned in parentheses. No extra line spacing should be left before or after equations, models, or formulas.

8. Bullet-pointed text should be left-aligned with 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph.

9. If a direct quotation from a source in the article is fewer than 40 words, it should be enclosed in quotation marks and cited within the text. If the quotation exceeds 40 words, it should be placed in a new line, indented 1.25 cm from both the left and right margins, with 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph, and cited accordingly.

10. If appendices are to be added to the article, they should be placed after the references and labeled (e.g., Appendix 1, Appendix 2).

11. Articles submitted to the journal must be prepared in accordance with the American Psychological Association (APA 7) style for referencing, footnotes, and bibliography formatting. Citations within the text should follow the conjunction method. Explanatory notes should be written as footnotes, justified on both sides, in 8-point Times New Roman font with single line spacing and 3 pt spacing before and after the paragraph.

12. In-text citations should include the author's surname, the publication year, and the page number. In articles submitted in Turkish, “ve” should be used between authors for works with two authors, whereas “&” should be used for English submissions. For works with three or more authors, the surname of the first author should be followed by “vd.” in Turkish and “et al.” in English.
• Single author citation: (Tüfekci, 2021, p. 112).
• Two-author citation: (Acar & Özçelik, 2011, p. 240).
• Three or more author citation: (Bayrakçı et al., 2022, p. 265).
• Multiple source citation: (Yağmurlu, 2021, p. 220; Sektioğlu, 2022, p. 41; Acar & Özçelik, 2011, p. 242).
• Citation for the entire source: (Drucker, 1995).
• Secondary source citation: (Freud, 1901, as cited in Bonomi, 1998).

13. If a group author with an abbreviation is used, the full name should be provided for the first citation, followed by the abbreviation for subsequent citations. If no abbreviation is used, there is no difference between first and subsequent citations.
• First citation of a group author with an abbreviation: (Isparta University of Applied Sciences [ISUBÜ], 2022).
• Subsequent citation: (ISUBÜ, 2022).

14. For citations from websites where the author is known, they should be cited like periodicals. If no publication date is provided, the access date should be used as the year of the source. If the author is unknown, the organization and the access year should be cited in parentheses.
• Citation with known author and publication year: (Okolie & Amos, 2014).
• Citation without known author and publication year: (Public Oversight, Accounting, and Auditing Standards Authority, 2023).

15. If multiple works by the same author are published in the same year, they should be distinguished by adding a, b, c, etc., after the year.
• (Yiğit, 2020a, p. 107).
• (Yiğit, 2020b, p. 2).

16. In narrative citations where the author's name is mentioned in the text, “and” should be used in English manuscripts for two authors. For works with three or more authors, “et al.” should be used.
• According to Tüfekci (2021, p. 113), ……
• Acar and Özçelik (2011) ……
• Bayrakçı et al. (2022) ……

17. All sources used in the article must be included in the references section. Sources should be listed alphabetically by the author’s surname without distinguishing between types (thesis, book, article, report, etc.). The oldest work by the same author should be listed first. The first line of each reference should be left-aligned, and subsequent lines should be indented by 1.25 cm. This can be set using the "hanging" option in the paragraph settings with a value of 1.25. The references should be formatted in Times New Roman, 10-point font, single-spaced, with 0 pt spacing before and after the paragraph. There should be a blank line between each reference. Except for journal titles, the titles of all publications (articles, books, chapters, theses, etc.) should be written with only the first letter capitalized. In journal titles, the first letter of each word should be capitalized. In works with two or more authors, “and” should be used before the last author in English manuscripts, and "ve" in Turkish manuscripts. The references should be formatted according to the examples provided below.
