Our journal aims to convey the research conducted in physical education and sports sciences to academicians, trainers, teachers, and students. Furthermore, the Sporda Teori ve Uygulama Dergisi (Journal of Theory and Practice in Sport) aims to deliver information in sports sciences to large masses by publishing studies of high standards in various fields of sports sciences. Therefore, in addition to the compilation, case studies, letters to the Editor, and book reviews, original research is published within the scope of the Journal of Theory and Practice in Sport.
The journal's scope consists of Physical Education and Sports Pedagogy, Exercise and Sports Psychology, Sports Management Sciences, Recreation, Movement and Training Sciences, Exercise and Sports Physiology, Sports Nutrition, Performance Analysis in Sports, Sports Philosophy, Sports Sociology, and Sports History.
General Writing Guidelines
The manuscript should be prepared in MS Word format (.docx) on A4 (21x29.7 cm) size paper. The font should be Times New Roman, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides, and the text should be justified.
Manuscript Layout
The manuscript should include the following sections in order: Title Page, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Recommendations, Author Contribution, Conflict of Interest, Ethical Statement, Acknowledgment (optional), References, and Appendices (if applicable).
Word Limit
Your manuscript should not exceed 8000 words. This limit does not include the abstract and references.
Title Page
The title page should include the name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s), their institutional affiliation, city, country, and e-mail address (corresponding author). Authors’ ORCID numbers should be included. Academic titles should not be used. The article title should be written in 12-point, bold, centered, and in title case (each word capitalized except for conjunctions).
Abstract and Keywords
The abstract should be between 200–250 words and summarize the entire study. Citations should not be included. The abstract should be written in Times New Roman, 11-point font, 1.5 line spacing, justified alignment. Keywords should include 3–5 words, written in lowercase letters and separated by commas.
Introduction
The theoretical foundations and related literature of the study should be clearly stated. The problem statement, rationale, and significance of the research should be presented clearly and understandably. References to current studies should be included.
Method
This section should clearly describe the research model, participant group, data collection tools, and data analysis. Subheadings should be formatted in accordance with APA 7th edition guidelines.
Results
Research findings should be presented clearly and systematically. Tables, figures, and graphics must be prepared in accordance with APA 7th edition formatting. Text within tables and figures should use a font size between 9–11 points. Each table and figure should be supported by a short explanation that contributes to the interpretation of the findings.
Discussion
The meaning of the findings in relation to the research problem and hypothesis should be explained. Similarities, differences, and contributions to the existing literature should be discussed.
Conclusion
This section should be written independently from the discussion and results. The conclusions drawn from the research and implications for the target audience should be clearly stated.
Recommendations
Recommendations for future research should be stated separately.
Author Contribution
Each author’s contribution must be clearly indicated. Example: Study Design: AB, CD; Supervision: AB, CD, EF; Data Collection: XY, UY; Data Analysis: AB and XY; Literature Review: CD, HG; Manuscript Writing: AB, CD, HG; Critical Review: XY.
Conflict of Interest
All authors must declare that there is no conflict of interest.
Ethical Statement
The ethics committee report of the research, the name of the committee, and the approval number should be stated in this section. For studies that do not require ethics committee approval, authors must indicate that no ethics approval was required.
Acknowledgment (Optional)
Acknowledgments may include thanks to individuals, institutions, or organizations that contributed scientifically during the research process.
References
Journal of Theory and Practice in Sport does not charge any fee in review process, after acceptance, and during submission.
Lisans eğitimini Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Spor Yöneticiliği bölümünde tamamlayan Kadir Yıldız, yüksek lisansını Erciyes Üniversitesi'nde, doktorasını ise Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi'nde Spor Yöneticiliği alanında yapmıştır. Halen Manisa Celal Bayar Üniversitesi'nde Doçent olarak görev yapan Yıldız'ın doğa ve macera eğitimi, dağcılık, oryantiring, doğa sporları, spor ve iletişim, fitness endüstrisi, hizmet kalitesi konularında çalışmaları bulunmaktadır.
Dr. Bojan Masanovic serves as an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education at the University of Montenegro. In addition to his academic role, he currently holds the position of Vice-Dean for International Cooperation at the same institution. He is a recognized member of the consortium for several scientific research projects (both national and ERASMUS+ Sport) focused on innovative approaches to advancing the field. Through the EAPA-BCH project, he co-founded an innovative nutrition and exercise program for the elderly. He also contributed to the EUFITMOS project, developing an innovative battery of tests used across Europe, and led the SWOST project, establishing a methodology for improving gender equality. Additionally, he is one of the creators of the groundbreaking theory on the Autophagy Threshold and Autophagy Zones, and he and his team are currently working on determining when individuals enter the autophagy zone. Dr. Masanovic is active in the media, where he uses open letters to draw attention to important everyday issues and to propose solutions to decision-makers. He has highlighted concerns such as the prevalence of underweight children in Montenegro and advocated for a monitoring system to address and improve this situation. During the COVID-19 crisis, he emphasized the importance of physical activity for enhancing the immune system. Over the past five years, Dr. Masanovic has published more than 50 articles in Web of Science-indexed journals. In recognition of his significant contributions to scientific research, artistic, and professional work, the University of Montenegro awarded him a plaque in 2019 and 2024. He also received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Development of Education and Sports Sciences in Albania from the Albanian Association of Sports Sciences (ASSA). Most recently, in 2024, he was honored with the “FIEPS Thulin Award” for Distinguished Service in International Physical Education.
