Doktor ve Hemşirelerin Osteoporoz Bilgi ve Farkındalık Düzeyi: Kesitsel Bir Çalışma

Abstract

ÖZET
Amaç: Bu çalışma sağlık çalışanlarının osteoporoz bilgi ve farkındalık düzeyini değerlendirmek üzere planlandı. Materyal ve Metot: Çalışmaya Haziran–Eylül 2018 tarihleri arasında toplam 120 sağlık çalışanı (doktor ve hemşire) dahil edildi. Katılımcılar osteoporoz ile ilgili temel bilgi alanlarını kapsayan 26 sorudan oluşan
bir anketi tamamladılar. Her öğe ‘doğru’ , ‘yanlış’ ve ‘bilmiyorum’ seçeneklerini içeriyordu. Sorulara doğru cevap verme oranları değerlendirildi. Ayrıca her katılımcının yaşı, cinsiyeti, mesleği ve deneyim yılı kaydedildi. Cinsiyet, meslek ve deneyim yılı ile sorulara doğru cevap verilme oranları arasındaki ilişki araştırıldı.
Bulgular: Çalışmayı 91 sağlık çalışanı tamamladı (ort yaş 32,3±9,7; %53,8 kadın, %46,8 erkek). Katılımcıların %58,2’si doktor, %41,8’i hemşire idi. Katılımcıların %49,5’i 5 yıldan az deneyime sahip iken, %50,5’i 5 yıl ve üzeri deneyime sahipti. Katılımcıların en yüksek oranda doğru cevap verdiği konular; osteoporozun kırık riskini arttırdığı, fiziksel aktivite ve güneş ışığının osteoporozda yararlı olduğu ve kemik dansitometrisinin osteoporoz tanısındaki rolü idi. Düşük beden kitle indeksinin
(BKİ <18,5) osteoporoza zemin hazırladığı ve 75 yaş üstü frajilite kırığı olan hastanın tedavi endikasyonu en az bilinen konulardı. Osteoporoz tanımı, erken menopoz, tiroid hastalıkları ve kortikosteroid kullanımının osteoporoz riskini arttırdığı, hormon replasman tedavisinin osteoporozun önlenmesindeki rolü, direkt radyografi bulgularının geç dönemde oluştuğu ile ilgili sorulara doğru cevap oranı doktorlarda hemşirelerden anlamlı olarak daha yüksekti (p<0,05). Diğer sorulara doğru cevap oranları hemşire ve doktorlar arasında anlamlı farklılık göstermedi (p>0,05). Sonuç: Bu çalışma hekim ve hemşirelerin osteoporozla ilgili bilgi ve farkındalık düzeylerini yükseltme ihtiyacını göstermektedir. Bu konu ile ilgili sağlık çalışanlarına verilen eğitim programları yaygınlaştırılmalıdır.
