Abstract

Dünyada
gerek gelişmiş gerekse gelişmekte olan ülkelerde gelir eşitsizliğindeki artış
dikkat çekicidir. Artan gelir eşitsizliğinin nedenlerini sorgulamak son dönemde
iktisat literatürünün üzerinde durduğu en önemli konulardan birisidir. Gelir
eşitsizliğini etkilediği düşünülen değişkenlerden birisi de doğrudan yabancı
yatırımlardır. Bu bağlamda çalışmanın amacı Türkiye’de gelir eşitsizliği ile
doğrudan yabancı yatırımlar arasındaki ilişkiyi analiz etmektir. Değişkenler
arasındaki ilişkinin belirlenmesinde eşbütünleşme ve VAR analiz yöntemlerinden
yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın en önemli bulgusu doğrudan yabancı yatırımların
gelir eşitsizliği üzerinde uzun dönemde herhangi bir etkisi olmadığı ancak kısa
dönemde negatif ve oldukça düşük düzeyde (önemsenmeyecek derecede) etkisinin
olduğu şeklindedir.
