These detailed policies have been formulated based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and similar sources. Below are some of these guidelines:
Introduction
The Black Sea International Scientific Journal is a reputable academic journal that publishes in the field of social sciences and operates without any financial support or assistance from institutions or organizations. Our primary goal is to enhance the quality of research and promote scholarly endeavors. We place great importance on ethical standards and integrity. Within this framework, we outline our publication fee policy below.
Publication Fee Policy
1. Author Fees: The Black Sea International Scientific Journal does not request any additional fees from authors during the evaluation and publication process.. However, the full publication fee must be submitted for the evaluation of the manuscript. If the process is halted at any stage, the portion of the service fee related to the processing stage will be deducted, and the remaining amount will be refunded to the author.
2. Publication Fees: The Black Sea International Scientific Journal charges a publication fee for accepted manuscripts. The distribution of fees for services and publication is as follows:
Editorial processing fee: 300 TL
Authors may submit manuscripts that do not adhere to our standards or publication rules, causing delays during the initial screening process. The initial screening involves several tasks such as ensuring compliance with writing guidelines, sending manuscripts to reviewers, delivering reviewer reports to authors, tracking possible revisions, sending to a third reviewer if necessary, obtaining a DOI number, preparing the manuscript for publication, binding pages, preparing internal pages, and submitting manuscripts to indexes.
Reviewer fee: 200 + 200 = 400 TL
The Black Sea International Scientific Journal employs a double-blind peer review system to evaluate manuscripts. Failure to complete the review process within the specified timeframe places both the author and the journal in a difficult position. The reviewer fee is paid to ensure that reviewers take the matter seriously and dedicate appropriate time to the review process, irrespective of whether the review is positive or negative. The reviewer fee is non-refundable in case of manuscript rejection.
Publication fee: 800 TL
Manuscripts should not exceed 23 pages, including appendices. If a manuscript exceeds this page limit, the contribution fee must be increased by 100%. This amount is used for the printing, distribution, and publication expenses of the journal without generating any commercial profit.
Translation support (optional): 250 TL (per translation)
Authors may request translation services for titles, abstracts, and keywords in Turkish, English, or Russian. These translations are carried out by professionals.
