ÖĞRETMEN ADAYLARININ SOSYAL AĞ SİTELERİNDE GİZLİLİK FARKINDALIKLARININ İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı öğretmen adaylarının sosyal ağ sitelerinde gizlilik farkındalıklarını araştırmaktır. Araştırma tarama modelinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak, araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Sosyal Ağ Sitelerinde Gizlilik Farkındalığı” anketi kullanılmıştır. Veriler 2013-2014 akademik yılında Ahi Evran Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesinde öğrenim görmekte olan 909 öğretmen adayından toplanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; katılımcılar sosyal ağ sitelerinde en fazla yakın arkadaş gruplarıyla, en az ise öğretmen/öğretim elemanlarıyla iletişim kurmaktadırlar. Bu siteleri en fazla gündem ve haberlerin takibi amacıyla, en az ise bütün arkadaşlarına grup mesajları gönderme amacıyla kullanmaktadırlar. Katılımcıların sosyal ağ sitelerini kullanım gizlilik farkındalıkları genel olarak ortalamanın üzerinde çıkmıştır. Ayrıca, gizlilik farkındalıkları maddelerinin çoğunda cinsiyete göre, kadınların lehine anlamlı farklılık görülmüştür.

An Investigation of Pre-service Teachers’ Privacy Awareness on Social Networking Sites

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine pre-service teachers’ privacy awareness on social networking sites. The research was carried out as a survey study. The survey of “Privacy Awareness on Social Networking Sites” was used as data collection tool. The survey was developed by the researchers. The data were collected from 909 pre-service teachers who were studying in College of Education at Ahi Evran University in academic year of 2013-2014. According to findings; participants mostly communicate with very close group of friends on social networking sites. Participants communicate with teachers/instructors on the social networking sites less than any other group whereas they mostly use social networking sites to follow news and agenda. They use social networking sites rarely to send group messages to their friends. Participants’ privacy awareness on the sites was generally above average. At most of the privacy awareness items were found significant differences in terms of gender in favor of female
