Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Sosyopolitik Kontrol Düzeylerinin Bazı Değişkenlere Göre İncelenmesi

Abstract

Sosyal hizmet disiplininin odağına
aldığı bireysel ve toplumsal güçlendirme ile sosyopolitik kontrol birbiri ile
örtüşen özelliklere sahiptir. Sosyopolilitik kontrol, kişinin çevresindeki
sosyal ve politik sistemleri etkileyebileceğine dair inancı anlamına
gelmektedir. Sosyopolitik kontrolü yüksek olan bireylerin değişim
yaratabileceklerine dair inançları da yüksek olmaktadır. Bu nedenle nihai
amaçlarından biri sosyal ve politik sistemleri etkileyecek sosyal hizmet
uzmanları yetiştirmek olan sosyal hizmet lisans bölümlerinin öğrencilerinin
sosyopolitik kontrol düzeylerinin belirlenmesi oldukça önemli bir konudur. Bu
bağlamda bu araştırma hem üniversite öğrencilerinin hem de sosyal hizmet bölümü
öğrencilerinin sosyopolitik kontrol düzeylerinin bazı değişkenlere göre
incelenmesi amacıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırma bulgularına göre STK
üyelikleri olan ve gönüllü çalışma deneyimi olan öğrencilerin sosyopolitik
kontrolleri diğerlerine göre daha yüksektir. Ayrıca siyasi parti üyeliği,
siyasi partilerde aktif görev alma, gazete okuma alışkanlığı ve güncel olayları
takip etme ile sosyopolitik kontrol arasında olumlu yönde bir ilişki
saptanmıştır.

Analyzing of Sociopolitical Control Levels of University Students According to Some Variables

Abstract

Personal and social empowerment is one of the important issues of social work disicipline and these features comply with sociopolitical control. Sociopolitical control is the belief of a person on whether he/she can change the social and political systems around her/him. Therefore a person with high sociopolitical control also has strong belief that he/she can cause change. Hence it’s important to learn the degree of sociopolitical levels of social work students at social work departments aiming to educate social workers who will work as change agent for social and political changes. To this end,this research aims to analyse socio-political levels of social work students as well as university students according to some variables. According to research findings students who are members of NGOs(non-govermental organizations) and who have volunteered for a cause have higher socio-political control scores. Also being a member of political parties, working actively for a political party, habit of newspaper reading and following current events are positively related to high socio-political control scores.
