Free Format Submission Guidelines for Authors

1.     Introduction

The journal adopts a free-format policy for initial manuscript submissions. Adhering to the journal template is not mandatory during initial submission.

Manuscripts must strictly comply with the journal's template formatting rules only after they have been accepted.

2. General Requirements for Initial Submission

For the initial submission, the manuscript must be written in English or Turkish, be easily legible, and be logically structured.

The paper similarity score must be 20% or lower (the "References" section is excluded from this report).

General Text and Language (Template Rule): Maintain consistent verb tenses. Use the past tense for your methodology and literature review, and the present tense for stating general truths and interpreting your findings.

2.     Recommended Manuscript Structure

While strict formatting isn't required initially, the journal highly recommends organizing the manuscript using this standard structure:

  • Title: Capitalize the first letter of all words except for short conjunctions and prepositions. Please do not include symbols, special characters, footnotes, or mathematical expressions in the title.

  • Author Information: Every paper must have at least one author. List names horizontally from left to right rather than grouping them into columns by institution. If the paper has more than six authors, continue adding names horizontally and only drop to a new line once you exceed eight authors. Include an ORCID icon next to each author's name that links directly to their profile. Keep institutional details brief, include the corresponding author's email, and add a note if the paper was derived from a thesis.

  • Abstract: Write a concise summary of 200–400 words covering the paper’s main research problem, objective, methodology, and key findings. The abstract must be a single, self-contained paragraph free of any symbols, special characters, footnotes, or mathematical expressions.

  • Keywords: Provide between 4 and 6 keywords.

  • Main Sections: Introduction, Literature Review, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.

4. Figures and Tables

For the initial submission stage, the author can comfortably embed tables and figures directly within the text. All tables and figures must be labeled and titled to ensure they are clear and easy to read.

5. References

The author(s) are free to use any standard citation style (APA, IEEE, Harvard, etc.) for the initial submission, provided the paper is consistent and includes DOI numbers along with complete bibliographic data.

6. Ethical Considerations

The manuscript must be entirely original and not currently under review by any other journal. Please note that the journal uses plagiarism-detection software.

  • Generative AI Template Rule: The author(s) may use generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) strictly to improve the language and readability of the manuscript.

  • The author(s) cannot use AI to outsource core authorship tasks, such as generating scientific insights, analyzing data, or drawing conclusions; therefore, no AI tool can be listed as an author. Using AI to generate figures or graphics is only permitted if it is directly tied to your research methodology, and this is subject to editorial approval.

  • If the author(s) use AI tools, the author must explicitly declare this under the heading "Declaration of Generative AI". The author(s) must be sure to state the name of the tool, its version, and the specific purpose for using it.

7. Formatting After Acceptance

Once the paper is accepted, the journal template (📝 KMUJENS_ENG.docx ) restrictions become absolute, and the author must be made by the author.
