General information
It is the Corresponding Author’s responsibility to ensure that he/she has the correct authors’ names, affiliations, addresses and author sequence when the final corrected proofs are submitted. Please keep in mind that corrections are no longer possible after online first publication. All additional corrections need the approval of the Editor-in-Chief(s) and would result in the publication of an erratum that will be hyperlinked to the article . It is at the discretion of the journal that the accepted articles will be published in which issue of the journal.
Article types of interest
The types of articles that our journal will accept for publication are original research, review, case report and case series.
Original Research: Prospective-retrospective and experimental studies conducted in clinics can be published. Original research should consist of the following parts:
-Abstract
-Introduction
-Materials and Methods
-Results
-Discussion
-Acknowledgements
-References
Review Article: Prepared directly or by invited authors. It can be prepared to include the latest medical literature for any subject with medical characteristics. It is especially preferred if the author has published publications on that subject. Review articles should consist of the following sections:
-Abstract
-Topics related to the subject
-References
Case Report-Case series: These are rare articles that differ in diagnosis and treatment. It should be supported with a sufficient number of photographs and diagrams.
Case reports should consist of the following sections:
-Abstract
-Introduction
-Case Report
-Discussion
-References
WRITING RULES
The following formal principles should be followed in the articles sent to the journal for publication:
Title page:
It is the part that includes the title of the article, the names of the authors and the institution information. While submitting the article, the cover page should be uploaded to the system as a separate word file. The title page should contain the following information:
Type of article (Research article, Review, Case report or Case series)
Title of the article in Turkish
Title of the article in English
Ordered author names
Institutions of all authors (Name of institution, Name of department, City, Country), phone numbers, e-mail addresses.
Correspondence author name and surname, institution and address information, Telephone number and e-mail address
Sequential ORCID numbers of authors (example: 0000-0002-8913-4341, 0000-0002-7054-1203…)

Abstract in Turkish: It is a section consist of 200-250 words, which reflects the essence of the article, gives striking results, contains enough information for the reader to get an idea about the article. Abstract section should consist of “Aim”, “Materials and methods”, “Results” and “Conclusion” sections for research articles. For case reports and reviews, the abstract is written without a section. The name of the institution should not be mentioned in the abstract section of both the article files and the file uploaded to the system.
Abstract in English: It is the section that is written as the full English equivalent of the Turkish abstract. It should consist of “Objective”, “Material end methods”, “Results” and “Conclusion” sections.
Word count: Limited to max 300 words.
Keywords: At least 3 keywords, in Turkish and English that are related to the content of the article and that will enable the article to be easily found while searching in the literature should be presented. English keywords should be given in accordance with "Medical Subject Headings (MESH)" (See: www.nlm.nih.gov/mesh/MBrowser.html). Turkish keywords should be exact translations of MESH terms. Keywords should be listed in alphabetical order.
Main text: As stated above, it should consist of subtitles suitable for the article type, should be written in Times New Roman font, 12 punt size, 1.5 line spacing. As a writing language, attention should be paid to grammar, there should be no expression disorder and inverted sentences. Instead of leaving spaces for indents, the "tab" function should be used. The file can be sent in “Doc” or “Doc x” format. The line numbering function should be used. If the name of the institution or the author is found in the main text, the name of the institution in this file will be hidden and sent to the reviewer by the editor.
Abbreviations: The first occurrence of the word is given in parentheses and the same abbreviation is used throughout the text. No abbreviations are used in the title. In the abstract, abbreviations that are accepted by everyone can be used (eg: MR, TSH..)
References: References should be written in the order they appear in the article and should be indicated in parentheses just before the punctuation marks at the end of the sentence in the text. If the number of authors in the article is 6 or less, all authors should be specified, if 7 or more, the first 6 names should be written and "et al." For Turkish sources, "et al." statement should be added. The format used for reference writing should be as specified in Index Medicus (See: www.icmje.org). Personal experiences, commercial brochures and unpublished publications cannot be cited. Examples for writing references (please note punctuation):

Number of References: It is limited to 40 reference.
Figures, Pictures, Tables and Graphics: The places where figures, pictures, tables and graphics are used in the text should be specified in parentheses at the end of the relevant sentence, and their explanations should be added to the end of the article under a separate heading.
Figures, pictures/photos must be sent as separate .jpg or .gif files (approximately 500x400 pixels, 8 cm wide and 300 dpi scanned).
-The abbreviations used should be stated in the explanation below the figures, pictures, tables and graphics.
- If previously printed figures, pictures, tables and graphics are used, written permission should be obtained and this permission should be stated in the description of the figure, picture, table and graphic.
-Pictures/photos must be colourful, contrast and clear enough to see details.
Acknowledgements: If there is a conflict of interest, financial support and all other editorial (statistical analysis, English/Turkish evaluation) and/or technical assistance, it should be stated at the end of the text before the references.

After acceptance: Accepted articles are edited by the section editor in terms of spelling and grammatical errors. The edited article is sent to the author for the last time in order to correct possible errors in issues such as author names, author rank, author institutions, spelling errors, compatibility of tables and images with the text (Proofreading). Authors should follow this document in the "end reader" tab or via their email. The question boxes opened on the article by the redaction editor are answered by the author and the article is ready for printing.
English editing process: For articles written in a foreign language, it is recommended that the authors seek professional help. For articles written in a foreign language, spelling and grammatical errors detected in the examination carried out by the language editor are detected and a correction is suggested.
Word count: Limited to 3500 words for research articles and 4000 words for review articles. The number of tables is limited to a maximum of 4, and the number of figures is limited to 2.
