Antikolinerjik Sendroma Neden Olan Bitki Zehirlenmesi

Abstract

Türkiye’de yaygın olarak bulunan ve halk arasında boru çiçeği, kahkaha çiçeği, sihirbaz otu, şeytan elması olarak da bilinen ‘Datura stramonium’ bitkisi halk tarafından astım, diyare, noktüri, hemoroid, akne ve bölgesel ağrılarda faydalı olduğu düşüncesi ile yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bitkinin içeriğinde bulunan L-hiyosiyamin, atropin ve skopolamin zehirlenmesinden sorumlu olan maddelerdir. Yazımızda, antikolinerjik bulgularla acil servise başvuran, öykü ve fizik muayene ile Datura stramonium zehirlenmesi tanısı konulan bir olgu sunulmaktadır. Amacımız, antikolinerjik bulgularla acil servise başvuran olgularda Datura stramonium zehirlenmesinin de akılda tutulması gerektiğini vurgulamaktır

Abstract

Datura stramonium is a widely abundant plant in Turkey. It is regarded as pipe plant, lough plant, sorcerer’s plant, or devil’s apple among the population. People may frequently use it against asthma, diarrhea, nocturia, hemorrhoids, acne, and regional pain symptoms. The plant contains L-hiyosiyamin and this molecule is responsible for the atropine and scopolamine intoxication findings. In this report, we present a case that was admitted to the emergency department with anticholinergic symptoms and diagnosed as Datura stramonium intoxication with history and physical examination findings. We aim to stress on the importance of recalling Datura stramonium intoxication especially in patients who present to the emergency departments with anticholinergic symptoms
