Peer-Review Process

Peer-Review Process

Articles can be submitted to the KMJ by registering in the "Article Management System". Articles sent by e-mail will not be taken into consideration.

Pre-Review and Plagiarism Checking

The compliance of the article with the spelling rules of the Journal is examined, and similarity checks are made to prevent plagiarism. The similarity rate must be at most 20% excluding references. If the similarity rate is more than 20%, the study is either rejected or sent back to the author to reduce the similarity rate. In case the work is sent to the Author(s) again for the similarity report, the preliminary examination is completed within a maximum of 20 days.

Editorial Process

After the study passes the preliminary evaluation and similarity check stages, it is reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief in terms of subject, scope, language use and academic adequacy. The Editor-in-Chief forwards the article to a Section Editor who is an expert on the subject. The Section Editor reviews the article and, if deemed appropriate, assigns at least two reviewers who are experts in their field.

Peer Review Process (Double-Blind Peer Review)

Studies that pass the pre-review and editorial review undergo a confidential double-blind peer review process. Within the double-blind strategy, the identity of the peer reviewer is concealed from the author submitting publications to the journal. Similarly, the peer reviewers do not know who wrote the article they are reviewing. In other words, the peer review process is conducted by keeping both authors and peer reviewers anonymous to each other. The reports are also stored in the Article Management System.

Author's Revision

Authors take into account the feedback, criticisms, and recommendations of the reviewer and the Editor. In case of any disagreement, they have the right to appeal with their justifications. Authors edit the article as per the reports and upload the final version of the article to the system. If requested, this period may be extended by the Editor's decision.

Articles by authors who do not make the necessary corrections in their revision suggestions within 3 months will be removed from the system.

 Layout Process

The layout processes of the works decided to be published by the Editorial Board are completed. The article is queued for publication.
