Önemli Bir Sorun: Doğum Korkusu ve Ebelik Bakımı

Abstract

Gebelik, kadınların pek çoğunun bebeklerine kavuşma heyecanı ile birlikte doğumun nasıl olacağına ilişkin kaygıyı ve endişeyi yoğun bir şekilde yaşadığı bir dönemdir. Doğum korkusu kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu zaman, kadının doğuma hazırlanmasında yardımcı olabilmektedir. Ancak bu düzeyinin yüksek noktalara ulaşması kadında doğum sırasında ölme, bebeğin ölmesi, doğumda kontrolü kaybetme, müdahaleli vajinal doğumdan korkma gibi pek çok olumsuz düşünce ile boğuşmasına neden olabilmektedir. Gebelerin doğuma yönelik korkularının erken dönemde saptanması doğum komplikasyonlarını azaltmak için son derece önemlidir. Bu derlemede doğum korkusunu, nedenleri ve sonuçlarını güncel bilgiler ışığında incelenerek, doğum öncesi ve doğum sürecinde aktif olan ebelerin konuya dikkatini çekmek amaçlanmıştır.
