Article Evaluation Process

Preliminary Review
Manuscripts that have not been previously published or are not currently under review for publication in another journal and are approved by each author are accepted for review. The Editor-in-chief checks the manuscript for conformity with the purpose and scope of the journal and adherence to ethical standards in research and writing. Articles that are not suitable for the scope of the journal are rejected at this stage. The Editor-in-chief examines the article for compliance with the journal's writing rules and subjects the article to Turnitin/Ithenticate scanning for plagiarism detection. The similarity rate must be less than 20%.

The editor-in-chief sends the article to the members of the Editorial Board to examine the article in terms of subject, method and results and to decide whether it should be included in the detailed evaluation process. If the Editorial Board decides to evaluate the article, the article is forwarded to the field editor. Articles that are suitable for the scope of the journal are sent to the author for correction if there is a significant deficiency. Articles with no deficiencies are forwarded by the field editor to two expert referees who have research on the subject of the article. If there are no experts in the subject of the article, the referees are selected from among researchers with a PhD degree in that discipline. The preliminary review is completed in 10 days.

Referee Evaluation
The referee process is carried out in confidentiality within the framework of double blind refereeing. The referees evaluate the article in detail in terms of its subject, method and results and give their opinion on whether it should be published or not. The referee invitation period is 5 weeks and the referee evaluation period is 15 days. If deemed necessary, referees may be given additional time to complete their reviews. Each article submitted to the journal is reviewed by two referees. If both referees give a positive opinion, the article is accepted. If both referees give a negative opinion, the article is rejected. If one of the referees gives a positive and the other a negative opinion, a third referee is consulted. The referee is requested to state his/her opinion and opinion about the study he/she has reviewed either on the text or to justify it with an explanation of at least 150 words on the online referee form. If the referees suggest revisions, the article is sent to the author.

Translated articles are sent to language and related field experts for evaluation in terms of conformity with the original, appropriate use of field concepts and language. Translations in which the experts express a negative opinion are not published.

The publication of book and symposium reviews and doctoral thesis abstracts is decided upon the evaluation of the relevant field editors.

Revision Phase

If the referees request revisions to be made in the text they have reviewed, the relevant reports are sent to the author and the author is asked to revise his/her work. Authors are given a minimum of 1 week and a maximum of 4 weeks to make the necessary corrections on the article in line with the referees' opinions. The author submits the corrections to the field editor by indicating them in red color. The author is given the right to object and defend his/her views if he/she disagrees with the referee's opinions. The field editor ensures mutual communication between the author and the referee by maintaining confidentiality.

The referee checks whether the author has made the requested corrections in the text within 7 days.

Field Editor Check
