Abstract

A GENERAL OUTLOOK ON THE GLOBAL ELECTRIC CAR MARKET

Year 2020, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 193 - 203, 30.12.2020

Abstract

The crowdedness of cities in the globalizing world and the increase of motor vehicles have brought along many problems such as the decrease in oil reserves, environmental degradation and climate change. At this point, technological innovations in the electric car market are seen as an important factor in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the transportation sector and the construction of eco-friendly smart cities.
Technological innovations have some global effects on R&D expenditures, determining the place of production, international trade and sustainable development. Economic growth, community demands and environmental impact factors should be taken into account in a sustainable way of developing transportation systems. This study addresses the role of electric cars, which are constantly changing and developing with technological innovations, on sustainable development. Accordingly, in the future a dynamic growth is expected in the production and sales of battery powered electric cars (BEVs), which are also called pure electric cars, with their range length and low cost compared to hybrid cars.
