The Journal is a double-blinded peer reviewed, open access, independent, and unbiased national journal published by the Institute of Health Sciences of Kocaeli University. The journal will be released as 3 online issues a year. Free online access to the issues will be ensured. The article is not accepted for a certain number of articles. Authors can submit an article at any time. The articles which evaluation process is completed are published considering the acceptance date. Articles numbered with doi taken in early view are printed in the following numbers respectively according to the acceptance date.

The language of the journal is English and/or Turkish. The aim of our journal is to express novel developments of basic or clinical and other health sciences in our country or all over the world, to share original researches with scientific arena and to establish a discussion platform in which negative or positive aspects of new scientific developments as well.

It publishes original research related to clinical, experimental and basic sciences on medicine, editorial comments, reviews articles, case reports, letters to the editor. Manuscripts related to pharmacy, dental medicine, veterinary, nursing, physiotherapy, nutrition, medical training, health management, sport medicine, health economy or all other health sciences may also be accepted.

Only unpublished papers that are not under review for publication elsewhere can be submitted. Kocaeli Universitesi Saglık Bilimleri Dergisi does not accept multiple submission and duplicate submission even though the previous one was published in a different language. The authors are responsible for the scientific content of the material to be sent for publication. Kocaeli Universitesi Saglık Bilimleri Dergisi reserves the right to request any research materials on which the paper is based. Through open access it expands shared knowledge across health professionals; it provides the free, immediate, availability of the published work online (https://dergipark.org.tr/kusbed). There is no fee for article submission, processing, or publication.

The journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supporting a greater global exchange of knowledge. We accept to the Open Access Rules of Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/ 

The Editorial Board of the journal adheres to the principles of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All articles are checked in aspect of plagiarism by our Editorial board. Another principle of our journal is that the evaluation of articles is usually completed quickly and published on time.

All published articles of this journal are included in the indexing and abstracting coverage of: Turkish Medical Index, Turkish Medline, ResearchBib Academic Resource Index, Google Scholar, Scientific Indexing Services, International Scientific Indexing, ASOS Index, Eurasian Scientific Journal Index, Directory of Research Journals Indexing (DRJI), OpenAIRE, Arastirmax, CrossRef, Sobiad, and Rootindexing.

All published articles are assigned to Digital Object Identifier (DOI) – CrossRef. All reviewer reports are kept 5 years in order ULAKBIM (National network and information center) and Committee of Medical data bank to evaluate these reports. As soon as new issue is published, PDF format of this issue is downloaded into ULAKBIM online journal following system (ODIS).

The author(s) doesn’t hold the copyright without restrictions and also doesn’t retain publishing rights without restrictions. Author and general public could not use the work commercially without permission from the publisher (please check Copyright Policy and CC license details for more information).

Additionally, the first publication right belongs to the journal. Exclusive rights (commercial etc.) of the published papers belong to the journal. There is not a payment to the authors as copyright fee.
