The Journal of Logic Research (MAD / J. Log. Res.) is a peer-reviewed journal published annually in October. J. Log. Res. aims to publish and share with the public original scholarly works of national and international academic quality. It focuses primarily on logic but also includes contributions in all areas of philosophy, such as research articles, book reviews, and symposium evaluations.
The Journal of Logic Research (MAD / J. Log. Res.) is a scholarly journal in the field of philosophy, with a primary focus on Logic, History of Logic, and Philosophy of Logic. Articles submitted for publication undergo a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers. In addition, each submission is checked for originality and plagiarism using specialized detection software to ensure that the work has not been previously published and does not contain any plagiarized content. Authors are also required to provide, alongside a 150-word abstract, a expanded abstract of approximately 750 words after the peer-review process is completed.
General Principles
The Journal of Logical Research (J. Log. Res.) is an international peer-reviewed journal based in Kayseri, Turkey. It is published annually (once a year), but special or supplementary issues may be released when necessary.
J. Log. Res. is an academic journal primarily focused on Logic, and also covers Philosophy, History of Philosophy, and Philosophy of Religion. It publishes scholarly articles, interviews, translations, review essays, and similar academic works.
Uploading a scholarly article, interview, translation, or review essay to the journal’s online system is considered an official submission and initiates the peer-review process.
All copyrights of the articles submitted to J. Log. Res. belong to the journal. These works may not be published elsewhere, reproduced, or used without citation or permission from J. Log. Res. Any legal responsibility arising from the content of the article belongs to the author(s).
The official publication languages of J. Log. Res. are Turkish, English, and Arabic.
Each article must include a Turkish abstract (between 200–250 words), an English abstract (minimum 750 words), and 3–5 keywords in both Turkish and English. The first keyword should indicate the academic discipline of the article. Articles that do not meet these requirements will not be published, even if they successfully pass the peer-review process.
Since submissions are subject to peer review, the manuscript must not contain any identifying information about the author(s). After the peer-review process is completed, the author(s)' details will be added by the editorial team.
Once an article is uploaded by the author to the system, it undergoes the following steps: The editor or associate editors review the manuscript for compliance with publication and formatting guidelines. Articles that pass this stage are assigned to two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. Authors can track the status of their submission via their personal dashboard in the system.
After submission to J. Log. Res., the peer-review process can be monitored through the same online system using the registered email address and password. Authors must wait until reports from all reviewers have been received before uploading revisions. Only one revision is allowed, so authors should not upload any revised version until all reviewer feedback is available.
Submissions must not have been previously published elsewhere. Conference papers may be accepted only if the prior presentation is clearly indicated in the article.
At the end of the manuscript, under the heading "References" (KAYNAKÇA), all cited works must be listed in alphabetical order by the author’s surname (in uppercase), followed by the first name (in lowercase).
When registering as an author or reviewer for J. Log. Res., all required fields must be completed. In the “Biography” section, the author’s or reviewer’s areas of research and interest must be listed. In the “Department” field, the main discipline followed by the sub-discipline should be specified (e.g., Philosophy and Religious Studies / Logic).
J. Log. Res. is an exclusively electronic journal and does not publish in print.
Manuscripts must be formatted according to the following specifications before submission:
Page Layout
Paper Size: A4, Portrait
Top Margin: 5 cm
Bottom Margin: 5 cm
Left Margin: 4.5 cm
Right Margin: 4.5 cm
Font: Palatino Linotype
Font Style: Normal
Font Size (Main Text): 10.5
Font Size (Abstract): 9
Font Size (Footnotes): 9
Paragraph Spacing: Before 6 pt; After 0 pt
Paragraph Indentation: 1 cm
Line Spacing: Single
If the article uses a special font that is not standard in Microsoft Word, the font file must be submitted alongside the article.
Manuscripts must not contain page numbers, headers, or footers.
Except where content-specific needs require otherwise, the Turkish Language Association’s (TDK) orthographic and punctuation guidelines must be followed.
The İSNAD Citation Style must be used in all articles. Regardless of the citation method employed, every article must include a full bibliography at the end.
Article Evaluation and Publication Timeline
The Journal of Logic Research values transparency and predictability in the academic publishing process. The average processing times for submitted manuscripts are as follows:
Preliminary Assessment: 15 days
The editorial board conducts an initial screening to evaluate the manuscript’s relevance to the journal’s scope, adherence to submission guidelines, and compliance with ethical standards.
Peer Review Process: 15 days
Manuscripts that pass the preliminary stage are sent to at least two independent reviewers. Reviews are conducted using a double-blind process and are typically completed within 15 days.
Publication Time: 100 days
Accepted manuscripts are scheduled for publication within an average of 100 days. This includes the author revision process, formatting, and preparation of the issue for release.
📌 Note: While the average publication timeline is based on the durations above, manuscripts submitted very early in the year may experience a longer interval between submission and publication due to the timing of the annual issue and editorial scheduling.
