ZORUNLU İNGİLİZCE HAZIRLIK PROGRAMININ İNGİLİZCE ÖZ-YETERLİK ALGISINA ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu
araştırmanın amacı zorunlu İngilizce hazırlık programının öğrencilerin
İngilizce öz-yeterlik algıları üzerindeki etkisinin belirlenmesidir.
Araştırmada nicel (İngilizce öz-yeterlik ölçeği) ve nitel (yarı yapılandırılmış
görüşmeler) veri toplama yaklaşımlarının benimsendiği açıklayıcı karma-yöntem
araştırma deseni benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın nicel ve nitel aşamalarına toplam
30 zorunlu İngilizce hazırlık sınıfı öğrencisi katılmıştır. Öncelikle elde
edilen nicel veriler betimsel istatistik yöntemleri ve bağımlı gruplarda t
testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Sonrasında nitel veriler içerik analizine
tabi tutulmuştur. Nicel verilerin analizi sonucunda zorunlu İngilizce hazırlık
programının öğrencilerin İngilizce öz-yeterlik algılarını akademik yıl başına
göre anlamlı düzeyde geliştirdiği tespit edilmiştir. Nicel verilerin analizi
ile elde edilen sonuçlar nicel sonuçları destekler niteliktedir. Araştırma
sonuçları bir yıllık zorunlu İngilizce hazırlık programının öğrencilerin
İngilizce öz-yeterlik algıları üzerindeki olumlu etkisini göstermektedir.
