The Protective Effects of Egg Yolks of Different Poultry Species in Domestic Animal Semens Cryopreservation

Abstract

Until
today, experimentally designed technical adjustments have been introduced for
many types in semen freezing, which has become a requirement for many fields such
as artificial insemination, species protection and clinical medicine. Egg yolk,
provided that it is added as an additive in many diluents used for freezing
mammalian sperm; has taken place thanks to the protective effects of the
contained special agents. For this purpose, it widely used and has an effect on
motility, viability and fertilization capacity. Protein, lipid and cholesterol
present in the egg yolk are available to actively protect the sperm during
various stages of freezing. In order to achieve better semen quality, the use
of egg yolks of different poultry species instead of chicken egg yolks, which
are traditionally used, has been tried and positive results have been obtained,
albeit different according to the animal species. This condition may be due to
the differences in biochemical content of egg yolks. These chemical differences
can be explained by post-thaw motility and integrity differences in semen
freezing process with extenders, which produced from egg yolks of different
poultry species. The positive results were obtained in freezing of stallion,
buffalo, bull, ram and boar semen, using of duck, goose, quail, pigeon, turkey and
partridge egg yolks instead of chicken egg yolk. It has been concluded that egg
yolks of different poultry species can be used as an alternative
cryoprotectants instead of chicken egg yolk. However, this assessment needs to
be retried for dose planning to become more clear.

Evcil Hayvan Spermalarının Dondurulmasında Farklı Kanatlı Türü Yumurta Sarılarının Koruyucu Etkileri

Abstract

Günümüze
kadar suni tohumlama, tür koruma ve klinik tıp gibi birçok alanda gereksinim
haline gelen sperma dondurulmasında, birçok tür için deneysel olarak
tasarlanmış teknik ayarlamalar kullanıma girmiştir. Memeli spermalarının
dondurulması için kullanılan birçok sulandırıcı içerisinde katkı maddesi olarak
ilave edilmesi koşuluyla yumurta sarısı; içerdiği özel ajanların koruyucu
etkileri sayesinde yerini almıştır. Bu amaçla geniş çapta kullanılmakta ve
spermatozoon motilitesi, canlılığı ve fertilizasyon kapasitesi üzerinde etkiye
sahiptir. Yumurta sarısında bulunan protein, lipit ve kolesterol dondurma
sürecinde çeşitli aşamalar boyunca spermayı aktif olarak korumak için
mevcutturlar. Daha iyi çözüm sonu sperma kalitesi elde etmek amacıyla farklı
kanatlı türlerinin yumurta sarılarının geleneksel olarak kullanılan tavuk
yumurta sarısı yerine kullanımı denenmiş ve hayvan türlerine göre farklı
olmakla birlikte olumlu sonuçlar alınmıştır. Bu durum yumurta sarılarının
biyokimyasal içeriklerinin farklılığından kaynaklanabilir. Bu kimyasal
farklılıklar; farklı kanatlı türlerinin yumurta sarılarının oluşturduğu
sulandırıcılarla yapılan sperma dondurulması işlemindeki çözüm sonu motilitesi
ve spermatozoon bütünlüğü farklılıklarıyla açıklanabilir. Aygır, manda, boğa, koç
ve domuz spermalarının dondurulmasında tavuk yumurta sarısı yerine kullanılan
ördek, kaz, bıldırcın, güvercin, hindi ve keklik yumurta sarıları ile olumlu
sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Farklı kanatlı türlerinin yumurta sarılarının, tavuk
yumurta sarısı yerine alternatif bir kriyoprotektan olarak kullanılabileceği
fakat bu değerlendirmenin daha net olabilmesi için doz planlamalarının ayrı
ayrı denenmesi gerektiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
