The role of ozans (Turkish bards) in this process is great. They have traveled the villages while transmitting important concepts about human love, social problems, love and nature to the people. Afier the founding of the Turkish Republic, Atatürk has initiated reforms in the field of music as well. The purpose of these reforms was to create a universal (modern) Turkish music based on our musical wealth. The "Türk Beşleri " group who are considered as our fırst modern composers have been inspired by traditional and folkloric Turkish music in their work. From the l lth century onwards western composers like Mozart, Beethoven, and Haydn have incorporated elements of Turkish music into their work.
