Staff Room, Classroom and Laboratory Access Control with RFID Card System
Abstract
RFID
systems, also known as Radio Frequency Identification, can basicially be
described as the transport and reading of digital codes by radio frequency
which are called identification. These systems have an intensive use today.
Examples are areas such as public transportation, bridge transit, staff time
tracking, library lending system, inventory tracking. Unlike other ID reading
systems, the advantage of RFID systems are that they can recognize from a
distance, be contactless, have a large memory area, have high reading accuracy,
and read more than one ID at the same time. In this study, it was aimed to
establish an RFID lock system that can receive records to facilitate entrance
and exit to the rooms, laboratories and private areas where the personnel want
to reach with their id cards. Private RFID keychains are used for temporary
staff working at the institution and for non-identity personnel. The system can
record in real time and display the information of the last person entering the
room on the screen. In this respect, it is also possible to see from outside
the personnel in the classroom, the room and the laboratory. New staff permits
can be added to and removed from each room upon request. The control center of
the lock system is Arduino based.
