Dr. Veli Özdemir completed his Ph.D. in 2023 at the Institute of European Studies at Marmara University. Özdemir, who continues his academic work as a part-time assistant professor in the Department of International Relations at Işık University, also serves as editor of the Marmara Journal of European Studies (MJES). He specializes in qualitative and mixed-methods research and holds advanced certifications in data analysis software, including MAXQDA and NVivo. The project he leads, titled “Radical Uncertainty: Turkish Political Parties, the EU, and Global Crises” (TRUCE - 101277864), was awarded the MSCA 2025 Seal of Excellence from the European Commission. His primary research areas include the far right, securitization, populism, political narratives, the far right’s relations with Russia, Turkey-EU relations, and EU security.

Dr. Fatmanur Kaçar Aşcı is an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations at Kahramanmaraş Sütçü İmam University, where she also serves as Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations. She received her BA (2007), MA (2012), and PhD (2021) from Marmara University, completing her graduate studies at the Institute of European Studies, and conducted doctoral fieldwork in Germany in 2018.
Her research focuses on European politics, right-wing populism, and political communication, with particular emphasis on the multimodal and discursive evolution of populist styles in Europe, as well as the political dimensions of Türkiye–EU relations. She employs qualitative and mixed-methods approaches, integrating critical discourse analysis, multimodal analysis, and CAQDAS-based methodologies. Her work has been published in Palgrave Macmillan, Lexington Books, and Springer, as well as in peer-reviewed international journals. She is an active member of two COST Action Working Groups, contributing to collaborative and interdisciplinary research on European politics.

Thomas Diez is Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Tübingen and a former President of the European International Studies Association (EISA) 2015-7. From 1997 to 2000, he was Research Fellow at the Copenhagen Peace Research Institute and subsequently taught at the University of Birmingham. He is the author of more than fifty articles in international peer-reviewed journals. His books include Transnational Infrastructures and the Transformation of Global Orders (co-editor, Springer, 2025), The Routledge Handbook on Critical European Studies  (co-editor Routledge 2021), The EU and Global Climate Justice (co-author Routledge 2021), The EU, Promoting Regional Integration, and Conflict Resolution (co-editor, Palgrave 2017), and The Securitisation of Climate Change (co-author, Routledge, 2016). In September 2009, he received the Anna Lindh Award for his contribution to the field of European Foreign and Security Policy Studies.

Cigdem Nas is the Secretary-General of the Economic Development Foundation (IKV), an NGO specialized on Turkey-EU relations. She is also an associate professor of international relations and a member of staff at the Department of Political Science and International Relations of the Yildiz Technical University in Istanbul. She graduated from the Political Sicence Department of Bosphorous University in 1988, completed her Masters on European Social Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science and her Doctorate athe Marmara University EU Institute on the minority rights regime in Europe in 2000. She worked as a researcher at the Istanbul Chamber of Industry between 1992-94, then joined the EU Institute of the Marmara University as a research assistant. She became an associate professor in 2007 and transferred to the Yildiz Technical University. She is the author or several books and articles on the EU and Turkey-EU relations including Turkey and the EU: Processes of Europeanization ve Turkey and EU Integration: Achievements and Obstacles published by Routledge. She is a member of the Turkish University Studies Association on EU Studies (TUNAECS), Academic Network of European Studies in Turkey (A-NEST), the Europe Team of the Delegation of the EU in Ankara, Jean Monnet Scholars Association, Global Relations Forum, and International Political Science Association (IPSA).

Zuhal Mert Uzuner is a professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at Marmara University. She teaches Introduction to International Relations and Seminar on Southeast Europe, International Organizations, EU-Turkey Relations, and Greek-Turkish Relations. Uzuner studies foreign policy analysis, Greek foreign policy, Turkish foreign policy, Balkan and Mediterranean politics, and Greek-Turkish relations. She has a B.A., M.A., and PhD degrees from Marmara University International Relations and an M.A. from Southeast European Studies at Democritus University of Thrace, Law School, Greece. She knows English and Greek and has written several articles, books, and papers in Turkish and English. She is the author of Anapofeuktoi Sintrofoi o Ellino Italikos Polemos ston Tourkiko Tipo Oktovrios Dekemvrios 1940 (published by Epikentro in 2016) and editor of Role of Image in Greek Turkish Relations (published in 2018 by Peter Lang). Zuhal Mert Uzuner, who has been the Director of MURCIR (Marmara University International Relations Research Center) since 2023, also participates in Track II diplomacy initiatives and has been a member of the Eastern Mediterranean Initiative since 2021 and the Turkish Greek Forum since 2022.

Prof. Dr. İlke Göçmen is the Head of the Department of EU Law at Ankara University Law Faculty. Previously, he served as the Director of the EU Research Centre and as the Editor of the Ankara Review of European Studies. 

He has been a visiting post-doctoral researcher at Leiden University’s Europa Institute and a visiting professor at Saarland University’s Europa-Institut.

He has extensive experience in research and publication in EU law, encompassing both its institutional and substantive aspects, as well as the legal dimension of EU-Türkiye relations.

He holds a Jean Monnet Chair (2019-2022) with his project titled Legal Issues in Turkey–European Union Relations.

His book Foundations of European Union Law was awarded the Jury Special Prize under the TÜBA–TESEP Scientific Authorship Program in 2025 by the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA).
