Marmara Journal of European Studies is an international journal published twice a year, in Turkish and English, in June and December and is subject to a closed double referee process.
Publication Objectives
The aim of Marmara Journal of European Studies, which is the first journal published in Turkey on the ‘European Integration Process’, is to present the studies of law, economics, international relations and political science of expert local and foreign researchers from the perspective of the European Union.
Publication Principles
The opinions in the articles published in the journal belong to the author. Academic articles published in the journal can only be reproduced for educational purposes. Published articles, graphics and tables cannot be reproduced in whole or in part without permission and cannot be archived in a particular system. Academic publications can be quoted, provided that the source is cited. Printing, reproduction and/or sales made with the aim of generating income will be subject to legal sanctions in accordance with the provisions of FISEK No. 5846. Articles previously published in another journal, book, etc. are not accepted. Papers presented at national or international conferences, seminars and panels can be taken into the publication process after being converted into article format.
How the Referee Process Works
1- The articles sent to MJES are subjected to preliminary examination by our editorial board before entering the referee process, and after the approval of ‘can enter the referee process’, they are sent to two national or international referees who are experts in their fields.
2- Articles that receive a ‘publishable report’ from both referees are included in the ‘list to be published’ for the next issue.
3- In case of a positive or negative response from the referees, the Editor is authorised to publish the article.
4- In case of two rejection decisions from the referees, the referee reports are sent to the author with the ‘unpublishable decision’.
5- In case of a ‘correction decision’ from the referees, the articles are forwarded to the author together with the referee report and a period of 2 (two) months is given to make the necessary corrections. The corrected article is sent to the same referee again and the article that receives a ‘publishable report’ is included in the ‘list to be published’ for the next issue.
