Group Guidance Programme for Stress and Coping
Abstract
The aim of the study is to examine the effectivity of the structured group programme which is oriented to develop coping strategies in stress conditions. The content of the programme is to recognize stimulie of stres and to teach possible alternative strategies for negative automatic thoughts. The group consisted of the juniors of Counseling and Guidance in Marmara University. In order to test the effectivity of the group study, “State-Trait Anxiety Inventory” and “Negative Thoughts Qestionnaire” are applied for pretest-posttest results. The results show that the group study has not lead to any significant differences in anxiety but negative automatic thoughts yielded significant difference.
