Abstract
Playgrounds are urban spaces where children first meet with the environment and establish social communication. Playgrounds have significant contributions to the early development of the child. Therefore, the design of playgrounds has to meet international standards and child development. This study aims to analyze 42 existing playgrounds in Kestel District, Bursa, Turkey. The study examined playground equipment, urban equipment, surface materials, playground equipment materials, typography, playground type, planting, and security. A field study was conducted to determine the current status of the playgrounds in the district.
