Akademik Cimrilik Düzeyi Ölçeği

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın amacı akademisyenlerin bilgi edinirken ve paylaşırken hangi özellikleri göz önünde bulundurduklarını tespit eden geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme amacı geliştirmektir. Lawshe tekniği ile hazırlanan ölçeğin aday formunda; “niteliksel adımlar’’ olarak odak grup görüşmeleri, “niceliksel adımlar’’ kapsamında ise sayıltı analizleri ile geçerlik ve güvenirlik analizleri uygulanmıştır. Uzman dönütleri sonrası 34 maddelik madde havuzu 37 maddeye ulaşmış olup, 5’li Likert yapıdaki (5=Kesinlikle Katılıyorum, … 1=Kesinlikle Katılmıyorum) deneme formu 367 akademisyene uygulanmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen Keşfedici Faktör Analizi (KFA) sonucu, 3 faktörlü 19 maddelik yapı ile tekrar veri toplanmış ve 406 gözlem ile Doğrulayıcı Faktör Analizi (DFA) gerçekleştirilmiştir. Faktör isimlendirmesi sonrası; Cronbach Alfa iç tutarlık katsayıları; “Taktik-Strateji” (n=5) alt boyutu için .86.2, “İletişim” (n=8) alt boyutu için .84.4, “Bilişsel-Sosyopatik” (n=6) alt boyutu için .89.3 ve ölçeğin tamamı için ise .92.2 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Açıklanan varyans oranı %61’dir. Akademisyenler üzerine birçok çalışma gerçekleştirilmiş olsa da cimrilik konusunda hangi faktörlerin önemli olduğunu ölçen bir çalışmaya rastlanılmamış olması çalışmanın motivasyonunu oluşturmuştur. Mevcut çalışma gözlenen bu eksikliği gidermeyi ve akademisyenlerin bilgi paylaşırken hangi özelliklere dikkat ettiklerine dikkat çekmektedir. Araştırma sonuçları, Akademik Cimrilik Düzeyi Ölçeğinin (ACDÖ), geçerli ve güvenilir olduğu ortaya koymaktadır.

Academic Stinginess Level Scale

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a valid and reliable measurement tool that determines which characteristics academics take into consideration when acquiring and sharing knowledge. In the candidate form of the scale prepared with the Lawshe technique; focus group interviews were applied as ‘qualitative steps’ and validity and reliability analyses were applied with assumption analyses within the scope of ‘quantitative steps’. After the expert feedbacks, the 34-item item pool reached 37 items, and the trial form with a 5-point Likert structure (5=Strongly Agree, ... 1=Strongly Disagree) was applied to 367 academicians. As a result of the Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA), data were collected again with a 3-factor 19-item structure and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) was performed with 406 observations. After factor nomenclature; Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated as .86.2 for the ‘Tactics-Strategy’ (n=5) sub-dimension, .84.4 for the ‘Communication’ (n=8) sub-dimension, .89.3 for the ‘Cognitive-Sociopathic’ (n=6) sub-dimension and .92.2 for the whole scale. The explained variance ratio is 61%. Although many studies have been carried out on academicians, the motivation of this study is that there is no study that measures which factors are important for stinginess. The current study aims to fill this gap and draw attention to the characteristics that academics pay attention to when sharing information. The results of the study revealed that the Academic Stinginess Level Scale (ASLS) is valid and reliable.
