Amaç: Ankara kentinde iş güvencesi ve düzenli geliri olan
kişilerin emniyet kemeri kullanımı konusundaki
bilgi, görüş ve davranışlarını belirlemek için yapılmıştır. Yöntem: Bir devlet kurumunda 271
(%77.2) katılımcıyla yapılan kesitsel tipteki çalışmada; veriler gözlem altında toplanmış ve tanımlayıcı istatistikler ile
ki-kare testi kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular: Katılımcıların yaş
ortalaması 43.7±8.71’dir. Sürücülerin %44.9’u şehir-içi, %72.8’i şehirlerarası
yollarda her zaman emniyet kemeri kullanmaktadır. Sürücü belgesi olan
kadınların %78.3’ü, erkeklerin %63.7’si şehir-içinde sürücüyken (p=0.032);
kadınların %76.3’ü, erkeklerin %55,2’si şehir-içi trafikte ön koltukta
yolcuyken (p=0.002); kadınların %85.5’i, erkeklerin %74,5’i şehirlerarası
trafikte sürücüyken her zaman emniyet kemeri taktıklarını söylemişlerdir
(p=0,027). Sürücü belgesi olan katılımcıların %21.8’i, sürücü belgesi
olmayanların ise %13.9’u şehirlerarası yollarda ön koltukta her zaman emniyet
kemeri kullandığını belirtmiştir (p=0.017). Sonuç: Eğitim seviyesi yüksek sayılan çalışma grubunda dahi, şehir içi veya şehirlerarası yollarda emniyet
kemeri kullanımı oldukça düşüktür. Emniyet kemeri kullanımı konusunda
farkındalık okullarda erken yaşlarda yaratılmalıdır.
Aim: The aim of this research is to
determine the knowledge, view and behavior of persons having job and regular income in Ankara. Methods: The cross sectional study was conducted
at a governmental institution with
271 participants (77.2%). A questionnaire was used under supervision to collect
data and descriptive analyses were used. Results: The mean age was 43.7±8.71. Out of
136 drivers, seat belt use was 44.9% at local and 72.8% at long distance. The seat belt use at the rear seat was 3.7% at
local and 10.3% at the long distance. 78.3% of women and 63.7% of men with
driver license used seat belt while driving through inner city (p=0.032); 85.5
of women and 74.5 of men used seat belt while driving long distances (p=0.027).
76.3 of women and 55.2% of men used seat belt while sitting at the front
(p=0.002). 21.8% of the passengers with driver license and 13.9% of the
participants without driver license used seat belt as a passenger in the front
seat (p=0.017). Discussion: Local
and long distance seat belt use behavior is still low with high-educated
persons. Awareness of seat belt use
must begin at schools at earlier ages.

MEU Journal of Health Sciences Assoc was began to the publishing process in 2008 under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Gönül Aslan, Editor-in-Chief, and affiliated to Mersin University Institute of Health Sciences. In March 2015, Prof. Dr. Caferi Tayyar Şaşmaz undertook the Editor-in Chief position and since then he has been in charge.
Publishing in three issues per year (April - August - December), it is a multisectoral refereed scientific journal. In addition to research articles, scientific articles such as reviews, case reports and letters to the editor are published in the journal. Our journal, which has been published via e-mail since its inception, has been published both online and in print. Following the Participation Agreement signed with TÜBİTAK-ULAKBİM Dergi Park in April 2015, it has started to accept and evaluate online publications.
