Bu makalede farklılıkları ortadan kaldırmadan, herkesin kendisi olarak kaldığı bir ortamda bir arada yaşamanın mümkün olup olmadığı İslam tarihinden iki örnekle tartışılacaktır. Bunlardan ilkinde Eyyubi hanedanından Mısır sultanı el-Kamil’in Assisili Francis’le yaptığı görüşme ikincisinde de Fatih Sultan Mehmet’in Bosnalı Fransiskenlerle karşılaşması ve onlara verdiği ferman incelenecektir.
This paper takes into account the problem of co-existence of people of different faiths by discussing how they can live together remaining as themselves in their social spaces with special reference to two examples in Islamic history. Within this context, firsty, it is dealt with the meeting held by el-Kamil, Sultan of Egypt from Ayyubi Dynasty and Francis of Assisi, and then it is examined the meeting between Sultan Mehmet, the Conqueror and Bosnian Fransiscans as well as the official document given by Sultan Mehmet II to Bosnian Franciscans.
