MUSEUM EDUCATION AS A TEACHING METHOD IN MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCE BASED ART EDUCATION

Abstract

The method is one of the important legs of the education system and the teaching program. Selecting a more effective method in teaching can also make the teacher more effective at the same time. Multiple Intelligence Theory can be seen as one of the theories providing important alternatives to education and teaching methods. The method variety offered by this theory includes museum education. Many different functions can be mentioned depending on the purpose of the establishment. However, museum education is very important and necessary in terms of contemporary teaching methods as well as traditional education. Museum education can not be considered limited only to the education given in the museum. Multi-Intelligence Theory is also an important place in terms of both museum education and visual arts education as an understanding of student-centered education and individual differences.The purpose of studying this; to examine museum education as a method of visual arts education from the perspective of Multiple Intelligence Theory, to draw attention to the necessity of museum education in this context and to present suggestions depending on this purpose
