ORGANIZATIONAL SILENCE AT THE INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION: A STUDY AT INSTITUTIONS OF TOURISM BACHELOR’S DEGREE-GRANTING

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of academics’ current status at the university, expectations, organizational commitment and support to management as silence factors on the organizational silence behaviour at the Institutions of Tourism Bachelor's degree-granting. A literature review was conducted for research model and then questionnaire was developed from the studies in the literature. Data were collected from participants (201 employees) via e-mail and were analyzed with PASW statistical programs. Structural validity of the data have revealed with the explanatory factor analysis. It was tested using a correlation analysis to determine the relationship among factor groups and using a regression analysis to determine the effects of independent variables on dependent variables. As a result, 9 of 12 hypotheses have been supported

YÜKSEKÖĞRETİM KURUMLARINDA ÖRGÜTSEL SESSİZLİK: TURİZM LİSANS EĞİTİMİ KURUMLARI ÖRNEĞİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, turizm lisans eğitimi veren yükseköğretim kurumlarında akademisyenlerin mevcut durumu koruma, beklenti, kuruma bağlılık ve yönetime destek durumlarının örgütsel sessizlik davranışı üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktır. Konuyla ilgili yapılan literatür taramasından elde edilen bilgilerle bir anket geliştirilmiştir. Elektronik posta aracılığıyla çalışmanın amacına uygun özellikte olan toplam 201 katılımcıya anket uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler PASW istatistik programı ile analiz edilerek açıklayıcı faktör analizi ile verilerin yapısal geçerliliği yapılmıştır. Faktörler arasındaki ilişkileri incelemek amacıyla korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Sonraki aşamada faktör gruplarının bağımlı değişkenler üzerindeki etkisinin ölçülmesi amacıyla regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Sonuçta oluşturulan 12 hipotezden 9’unun kabul edildiği ortaya konulmuştur.
