Principles of Publication

·      Mizanu’l-Haqq: Journal of Islamic Studies is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published twice a year in June and December by the Faculty of Islamic Sciences at İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University, İzmir, Turkey.

·      The short title of the journal is MIZAN.

·      The scientific evaluation of the works submitted to MIZAN is made on the basis of a double-blind peer review principle. For this reason, the names of the referees are not published in the journal. In addition, it is important for authors and referees to arrange the documents they work on confidential so that they do not reveal their identities.

·      MIZAN accepts submission of manuscripts in all areas of religious sciences (Social and Humanities / Religion), Islamic sciences in particular. In addition, the articles on Middle East Studies, Ottoman Studies, Values/Character Education and the like may also be published as long as they are related to religious studies in some way.

·      MIZAN welcomes original research papers, translations, reviews (for books, articles, thesis, projects, symposiums and conferences), critical textual studies, simplified reports and the like as long as they contribute to their area of research.

·      Manuscripts submitted to MIZAN should have been neither submitted nor published elsewhere.

·      Scientific and ethical responsibilities of the works submitted to Mizanu’l-Haqq: Journal of Islamic Studies belong to their authors and their copyrights belong to MIZAN. Authors are responsible for the content of their articles and for the accuracy of sources. Authors should send signed the approval document (Publication Rights Transfer Form), indicating that the publishing rights have been transferred, with their manuscripts.

·      All the opinions contained in the manuscripts published in our journal belong to their authors; they do not reflect the views of İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University and any of its sub units and employees.

·      The publication language of Mizanu’l-Haqq: Journal of Islamic Studies is Turkish. In accordance with MIZAN’s internationalization strategy the submission of Arabic and English manuscripts may be accepted. The works written in different languages apart from these ones may also be evaluated if they are in compliance with MIZAN’s Publication Principles and its Guideliness.

·      In Turkish manuscripts, the authors should use current Turkish Dictionary and Turkish Writing Guide published by the Turkish Language Association as basic reference books.

·      All persons and organizations that support and contribute to the work should be declared on a footnote on the first page of the article. If there is a permission and approval taken to conduct a research the consent document needs to be attached to the paper submitted.

·      Royalty is not paid to the authors and referees for the works processed and published in the journal. Two copies of MIZAN’s that issue is presented to each author and referee.
