THE PERCEPTIONS AND EVALUATIONS OF MANAGERS’ LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR
Abstract
Leisure time is very important for people who work at managerial position and it is evaluated at different activities by managers with different demographic features. So, the purpose of this study is to analyze 1) the perceptions of managers’ leisure time activities, 2) the effects of the perception on their activity decision, 3) and compare the leisure time evaluation by sex. The perception and evaluation of leisure time questionnaire was developed from literature. Through conducting a face to face interview, a total of 165 questionnaires were collected from managers in public sector in Isparta and Mugla. PASW was used to analyze the data that includes various statistical tools such as factor analysis, t test, correlation analysis and regression analysis. As a result, it was found that all independent variables such as cultural perceptions, economic perceptions, physical perceptions and time perceptions had significantly and positive influence on dependent variables and all hypotheses have been supported
