THE PERCEPTIONS AND EVALUATIONS OF MANAGERS’ LEISURE TIME ACTIVITIES IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR

Abstract

Leisure time is very important for people who work at managerial position and it is evaluated at different activities by managers with different demographic features. So, the purpose of this study is to analyze 1) the perceptions of managers’ leisure time activities, 2) the effects of the perception on their activity decision, 3) and compare the leisure time evaluation by sex. The perception and evaluation of leisure time questionnaire was developed from literature. Through conducting a face to face interview, a total of 165 questionnaires were collected from managers in public sector in Isparta and Mugla. PASW was used to analyze the data that includes various statistical tools such as factor analysis, t test, correlation analysis and regression analysis. As a result, it was found that all independent variables such as cultural perceptions, economic perceptions, physical perceptions and time perceptions had significantly and positive influence on dependent variables and all hypotheses have been supported

KAMU KESİMİNDEKİ YÖNETİCİLERİN SERBEST ZAMAN ETKİNLİKLERİNİ ALGILAMASI VE DEĞERLENDİRMESİ

Abstract

Serbest zaman, yönetici pozisyonunda çalışan insanlar için oldukça önemlidir ve farklı demografik özelliklere sahip yöneticiler tarafından farklı etkinliklerle değerlendirilmektedir. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmanın amacı 1) yöneticilerin serbest zaman etkinlikleri algılamaları, 2) bu algılamaların etkinlik kararlarına etkisi, 3) ve cinsiyete göre serbest zaman değerlendirmesini analiz etmektir. Alan yazından elde edilen bilgilerle serbest zaman algılama ve değerlendirme ölçeği geliştirilmiştir. Isparta ve Muğla’da kamu kesimindeki yöneticilerle yapılan yüz yüze görüşmeler sonucunda 165 anket toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde PASW istatistik programı kullanılmış olup, faktör analizi, t testi, korelasyon analizi ve regresyon analizi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçta kültürel algılamalar, ekonomik algılamalar, fiziksel algılamalar ve zamansal algılamalar olarak belirlenen bağısız değişkenlerin oluşturduğu faktörlerin bağımlı değişken üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif bir etkisinin olduğu bulunmuş ve belirlenen tüm hipotezler desteklenmiştir
