SIMULTANEOUS PRODUCTION PLANNING & CONTROL WITH CURRENT WORKSTATION LOADING

Abstract

Nowadays, due to increasing fierce competition for businesses, besides efficient and productive usage of resources, it is also significant to respond customer requests on time and correctly. The purpose of this study is dynamic scheduling of orders pending for process in the shop at any time and multi orders that are currently in production in the same workshop at order-based production companies having high diversity in their product portfolio. Because of the orders that must be delivered on time, many orders wait for production process in the shop at any time and there are many orders at the workshop at the same time. This dynamic structure causes scheduling and machine loading problems which are much more complicated and it reveals the necessity of effective management of production and control processes. Incorrect scheduling or assignment causes delays in shipments and machines to be idle. In addition to this, holding raw material, semi-finished product and product inventory generates high inventory costs, shortage costs and causes performing inventory management inefficiently. To overcome all of these problems, in this paper we aim to develop dynamic scheduling application for determining product routes and operating hours by system analysis, by selecting the correct order by taking into account the shop conditions, by simulating the system to assign the correct part to machines, by determining the best relevant strategy for the company with creating kinds of scenarios
