The study aims to determine the relationship between Turkish language learners' attitudes toward learning Turkish as a foreign language and their motivational barriers to learning Turkish. The views of participants were first described and then compared according to various variables, and finally, the relationship between the two variables was tried to be determined. The sample of the correlational survey model research included 342 university students. The data of the study were collected with the "Turkish Learning Attitude Scale" and "Motivation Barriers Questionnaire for Turkish as a Foreign Language Learners" Descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation coefficient was used to analyze the data. According to the results, the participants have a high level of attitude toward learning Turkish. The participants have the highest attitudes in cognitive, affective, and kinesthetic dimensions respectively. The cognitive, affective, and kinesthetic attitudes of the participants differed according to gender; affective attitudes differed according to the field of study. Students generally felt a low level of the motivational barrier. The most commonly perceived motivational barriers were related to teachers' competence and teaching styles, barriers related to students' feelings, communication barriers, and inadequate use of materials. Participants' views on the total score of barriers related to students' feelings, communication barriers, and motivational barriers differ statistically according to gender; their views on the total score of barriers related to students' feelings and motivational barriers differ statistically according to mother tongue; and their views on inadequate use of materials differ statistically according to the field of education. There are significant relationships between the participants' attitudes toward learning Turkish and its sub-dimensions and motivational barriers and its sub-dimensions at medium and low levels, in the opposite direction.
