Abstract

A Comparative Analysis of Green Transformation and Green Human Resources Management Practices in TR33 and TR81 Regions

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: 3, 1186 - 1202, 10.07.2025

Abstract

The aim of this study is to examine green transformation measures and potential green human resources management (GHRM) practices in Turkey’s TR33 (Afyonkarahisar, Kütahya, Manisa, Uşak) and TR81 (Zonguldak, Karabük, Bartın) regions. The study seeks to understand how green transformation processes are shaped at the regional level and how GHRM practices can contribute to this transformation. In this context, the current regional plans prepared by the development agencies in the TR33 and TR81 regions have been analyzed using the document analysis method. The findings reveal that green transformation measures vary based on regional dynamics. The TR33 region stands out for its focus on sustainability and the efficient use of natural resources in livestock and agriculture-based industries, while the TR81 region focuses on resource efficiency and environmental sustainability goals in energy-intensive sectors. Furthermore, the study recommends green recruitment, green training and development, green performance appraisal, green compensation and reward management, and green occupational health and safety to enhance the effectiveness of green transformation processes.
