Parent Involvement Intervention Approaches for Traumatised Children: A Systematic Review Study

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: Eğitim Bilimleri Ek Sayısı, 235 - 253, 23.10.2025

Abstract

Exposure to traumatic events leads to serious and long-term impairments and consequences on the individual. A serious consequence of exposure to trauma is post-traumatic stress disorder. Among the evidence-based treatments applied in the intervention of trauma symptoms in children, it is seen that intervention programmes that provide parental involvement come to the fore, but there is a lack of information on how to provide treatment of problems related to trauma symptoms, especially for families with young children. In this study, it was aimed to examine the components of parent involvement intervention programmes applied in the intervention of traumatised children. For this purpose, a systematic review was conducted in three databases, Web of Science (WOS), PubMed and Scopus, following PRISMA guidelines. As a result of the search, 28 articles were included in the scope of the research. In the results obtained, the intervention contents were analysed in four categories: basic theory, components, session structure, techniques/applications. In general, it was seen that the interventions were attachment-based and focused on the parent-child relationship, but it was observed that the intervention contents differed and varied in terms of the categories determined.

Travmatize Çocuklara Yönelik Ebeveyn Katılımlı Müdahale Yaklaşımları: Sistematik Derleme Çalışması

Year 2025, Volume: 14 Issue: Eğitim Bilimleri Ek Sayısı, 235 - 253, 23.10.2025
