Modular Journal, published twice a year (June–December) by the Faculty of Architecture and Design at Istanbul Gedik University, is an academic journal that features art works related to the fields of architecture and design, primarily through conceptual, methodological, and production practices. The journal prioritizes original research articles; it also publishes research abstracts, book and work reviews, and current discussions and opinions related to professional fields. Modular Journal is an academic platform where theoretical knowledge can be shared, primarily within the design disciplines of Architecture, Interior Architecture, Visual Communication Design, Industrial Design, and Digital Game Design. The journal is published in both Turkish and English.

The following schedule outlines the regular article submission periods for the journal:

1(st) January to 28(th) February
1(st) July to 31(st) August

The journal will not consider articles submitted outside of the specified dates.

It is imperative to note that submissions are exclusively accepted via the DergiPark system.


The journal does not accept articles for specific issues. Submitted works are subjected to a peer review process, and no guarantee of issue, timeframe, or publication is provided. The progression of the publication process is contingent upon the completion of peer reviews, the approval of the relevant committees and the editor, and the publication schedule of the designated issue. It is imperative to note that each issue of the journal is assigned a specific article capacity. Submitted works that have successfully completed the review process are then published in the appropriate issue. The order in which works are published is determined by two factors: firstly, their scientific review dates, and secondly, the order in which they were submitted to the journal.
