Journal of Marmara University Institute of Islamic Economics and Finance is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal that addresses the unique theoretical foundations, institutional structures, and practical applications of the discipline of Islamic economics and finance within a scientific framework.
The journal publishes articles in Turkish, Arabic, and English. It accepts original and high-quality studies based on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed research methods, founded on the Islamic understanding of knowledge and principles, with a focus on human dignity, fair distribution, and the real economy.
The journal is published twice a year, in April and October.
Submission periods:
For the April issue: November 15 – December 15 For the October issue: April 15 – May 15
If the number of article submissions reaches the required limit, the submission system may be closed before the official submission dates.
The intellectual and academic responsibility for articles published in the journal belongs to their authors or translators.
Translations must be submitted together with the original text in the source language. In order for a translated work to be considered for evaluation, the permission of the original author is required. Translators of works to be published in the journal must provide a written approval document from the copyright holder or authorized person/institution.
Authors are required to provide their titles, ORCID numbers, institutional affiliations, contact addresses, city/country of residence, and e-mail addresses.
Articles submitted to the Journal of Marmara University Institute of Islamic Economics and Finance are first subject to a preliminary review by the Editorial Board in terms of publication principles and writing guidelines. Articles not prepared in accordance with the journal’s guidelines will not proceed to peer review.
After the preliminary review, articles undergo a plagiarism check.
Submissions with a similarity rate exceeding 25% will not be evaluated or sent to referees.
Authors are deemed to have reviewed and approved their submissions as ready for publication. Articles that fail to meet scientific standards or contain significant writing errors are rejected by the Editorial Board.
Manuscripts that pass the plagiarism check and are accepted for peer review are sent to at least two anonymous referees under the double-blind review system, in which author identities are concealed. Authors are not informed of the reviewers’ identities and may be asked to revise their manuscripts in line with the reviewers’ feedback.
If one of the two reviewer reports is negative, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer. Articles that do not receive at least two positive reports will not be accepted for publication.
Unpublished manuscripts are not returned to the authors.
Manuscripts that are not returned from the peer-review process in time may, unless the author requests otherwise, be considered for the next issue of the journal.
