Nuh Naci Yazgan Journal of Health Research (NNYUSAD) is an international journal that publishes current, high-quality, and original articles supporting collaborative and multidisciplinary research in the field of health.
The journal is published electronically twice a year, in June and December, and is freely accessible. Original research articles, review articles, case reports, and letters to the editor are accepted. All articles published by NNYUSAD are free and open access. NNYUSAD is a "peer-reviewed journal" and only publishes manuscripts that have undergone a double-blind peer review process. Submissions to the journal must comply with the journal's writing, spelling, and citation guidelines.
Authors are required to adhere to the following guidelines when submitting manuscripts to the Nuh Naci Yazgan University Journal of Health Research (NNYUSAD). Failure to comply may result in publication delays.
Language and Formatting
Turkish articles should conform to the Turkish Language Association's Current Turkish Dictionary.
English manuscripts and abstracts must be reviewed by proficient experts before submission. Editors may request a "Proofreading Certificate" for English texts or abstracts when deemed necessary.
Manuscripts should be prepared on A4-sized paper using Microsoft Office Word, with "Times New Roman" font, 12-point size, and double line spacing. Margins should be set to 2.5 cm on all sides, and pages must be numbered at the bottom right corner.

In-text numerical values should use commas (,) in Turkish articles and periods (.) in English articles. Abbreviations should be defined at first mention and used consistently thereafter. Foreign terms in Turkish texts should be italicized. The main text file must not contain any identifying information about the authors or their institutions.

Submit the title page as a separate file. The title should clearly reflect the content and purpose of the manuscript without abbreviations, presented in both Turkish and English, with only the first letters capitalized and in bold.

Use superscript numbering for affiliations. Clearly indicate the corresponding author and their contact details. For English manuscripts, provide institution names in English.
If the work was previously presented at a scientific meeting or its abstract published, specify the event's name and date. If not, state that it has not been presented before.

2. Abstract
Provide abstracts in both Turkish and English, not exceeding 250 words for Turkish and 300 words for English. Abstracts should outline the study's purpose, rationale, methods, findings, and conclusions in a single paragraph without subheadings, unexplained abbreviations, or references.

3. Main Text
3.1. Original Articles
3.1.1. Research Articles
Structure Turkish manuscripts with sections: "Giriş" (Introduction), "Gereç ve Yöntem" (Materials and Methods), "Bulgular" (Results), "Tartışma" (Discussion), and "Sonuç" (Conclusion). English manuscripts should have: "Introduction," "Materials and Methods," "Results," "Discussion," and "Conclusion."
Use bold for all headings and number up to three levels of subheadings. Subheadings beyond the third level should be italicized.
The Introduction should provide background literature, rationale, and study objectives. The Materials and Methods section must detail clinical, technical, or experimental procedures with appropriate references. For studies involving humans or animals, include ethics committee approvals with the committee's name, date, and protocol number. State that informed consent was obtained from participants. Describe statistical analyses at the end of this section.
The Results section should present data without interpretation, avoiding repetition of table or figure content. Highlight key findings clearly.
In the Discussion, interpret results in the context of current literature, emphasizing the study's contributions and limitations without repeating statistical data.
The Conclusion should succinctly state the study's contributions and/or clinical implications in a single paragraph.

3.1.2. Review Articles
NNYUSAD publishes systematic reviews and meta-analyses that comprehensively cover health-related topics with current literature. While many are invited, unsolicited reviews within the journal's scope may undergo peer review. Review articles are limited to 3,500 words and 40 references.
3.1.3. Systematic Reviews/Meta-Analyses
Prepare systematic reviews and meta-analyses according to PRISMA guidelines. These manuscripts may contain up to 6,000 words with no restriction on the number of references.
3.2. Case Reports
Case reports should detail rare clinical conditions, novel diagnostic tools or methods, new treatment types, and foreseeable practical applications, including laboratory research. Structure these reports with sections: "Giriş" (Introduction), "Olgu Sunumu" (Case Presentation), and "Tartışma" (Discussion). Limit case reports to 2,500 words, 20 references, and a maximum of six authors.
3.3. Letters to the Editor
Letters pertaining to articles published in the journal within the past year may be considered for publication upon the Editorial Board's approval. If commenting on a specific article, reference the article's issue and date. Such letters may be forwarded to the original article's authors for a response, which may also be published. Abstracts are not required for letters. Limit letters to 100 words and five references.
4. References
Use the Vancouver citation style. Cite references sequentially in the text with Arabic numerals in parentheses, placed before punctuation.

PUBLICATION POLICY
Nuh Naci Yazgan University Health Research Journal (NNYUSAD) is a “Peer-Reviewed Journal” and only manuscripts that have undergone peer review are published.
The journal's publication processes are conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and the National Information Standards Organization (NISO).
The journal adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and adopts the ethical publishing principles published by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishers Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME).
The journal publishes manuscripts in both Turkish and English. Submissions must comply with the journal's writing, spelling, and citation guidelines.
The journal is published electronically and free of charge twice a year, in June and December.
In accordance with its publication policy, the journal does not charge any fees for manuscript submission, peer review, or publication of accepted manuscripts.
Manuscripts are submitted through the DergiPark system. All submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by another publication.
The initial evaluation process, which examines the manuscript's relevance to the journal's aims and scope, scientific merit, and adherence to the journal's writing guidelines, takes a maximum of one month. Authors are informed of the initial evaluation result within this period.
As part of the initial evaluation, all manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. If the similarity rate (excluding references) is 20% or higher, the manuscript is rejected by the editor-in-chief or section editor.
Authors are deemed to have accepted that their manuscripts are ready for publication as submitted. Each manuscript is reviewed by the section editor and at least two independent reviewers. The peer review process is conducted within the framework of a double-blind review system. If one of the two reviewer reports is positive and the other negative, a third reviewer is consulted.
The views expressed in the published articles and the responsibility for these views belong solely to the author(s). These views do not reflect those of Nuh Naci Yazgan University, the Editorial Board, and/or the publisher. Therefore, Nuh Naci Yazgan University, the Editorial Board, and/or the publisher do not accept any responsibility or liability for such material.
Copyrights (including reproduction, distribution, public communication, adaptation, and translation rights) for accepted manuscripts are transferred to the Nuh Naci Yazgan University Institute of Health Sciences for both domestic and international use in printed, visual, audio, digital, and other formats. No royalty fees are paid for this purpose.

Articles published in NNYUSAD are licensed under the “Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial – NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) International License” and may be shared in accordance with the license terms. All publication rights of accepted manuscripts belong to the institution that publishes the journal. Published works may be used, copied, reproduced, and adapted for non-commercial purposes, with appropriate citation and in compliance with the licensing terms. The opinions and suggestions in the published studies are entirely the responsibility of the authors. No copyright fee is paid for the published articles.
Authors must complete the "Copyright Transfer Form" available on the journal's website and upload it with their manuscript. Manuscripts submitted without this form will not be considered.
Conflict of Interest
NNYUSAD requires that authors and those involved in the evaluation process of submitted manuscripts disclose any current or potential conflicts of interest, including financial, consultancy, and institutional relationships that may lead to bias. Any financial grants or other support received for a submitted work must be disclosed to the Editorial Board.
Authors must complete the “Authorship and Conflict of Interest Declaration” available on the journal's website and upload it with their manuscript. Manuscripts submitted without this form will not be considered.
Open Access
NNYUSAD is an open-access journal. It provides immediate free access to the full texts of issues and articles published online. The journal allows all users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to, index, transfer data into software, or use the content for any lawful purpose. Authors are not charged any fees for the publication of their articles. Readers can download journal content free of charge for academic or educational use. The journal is open to everyone, at all times, free of charge. To ensure this, NNYUSAD uses the free article evaluation/online publishing system of DergiPark and relies on the voluntary efforts of editors and reviewers.
PUBLICATION ETHICS PRINCIPLES
The journal follows high standards of academic principles and ethical values at the national and international levels. It adheres to the principles outlined in the Higher Education Council (YÖK) Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Directive and international ethical standards set by COPE, DOAJ, OASPA, and WAME.
Unless they conflict with the aforementioned principles, other national or international guidelines or standards related to publication ethics are also accepted as valid.
Manuscripts that objectively violate these principles or standards before, during, or after the evaluation process are rejected. If such a violation is detected after publication, the relevant article is immediately retracted.
Submitted manuscripts must be original and must not have been published in another journal and/or conference proceedings as full text. Authors must declare that they comply with all the ethical principles and standards mentioned above.
Manuscripts must not be under review by another journal.
Research involving social sciences or requiring ethical approval for clinical or experimental studies must have obtained ethical committee approval. This approval must be stated in the “Methods” section of the article (including committee name, decision number, date, and number) and must be documented. The journal adheres to the “Declaration of Helsinki” principles for human research. Authors must state in the “Methods” section that informed consent was obtained and that the study was conducted in accordance with these principles. Under the Personal Data Protection Law, obtaining consent and providing it to authorized bodies upon request is the authors’ responsibility. For studies involving animals, authors must state in the “Methods” section that animal rights were protected and that approval from the animal ethics committee was obtained in accordance with the “Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals.”
Studies requiring ethical committee approval include:
All types of research using qualitative or quantitative methods such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, observations, experiments, and techniques that collect data from participants;
Research involving the experimental or scientific use of humans or animals (including materials/data);
Clinical studies conducted on humans;
Research conducted on animals;
Retrospective studies requiring approval under the Personal Data Protection Law.
In research:
Permissions must be obtained from copyright holders for the use of quoted texts, tables, figures, photographs, and copyrighted elements;
Compliance with copyright regulations must be stated.
