The administrative structure of the Abbassids was in the form of regions. The regions were expressed as climate/iqlim. The regions referred to as climate were directly connected to Baghdad. The regions within them were governed by climate/iqlim zones. During this period, the most important part of the administrative division was the regional governorates. One of the important regions in the Abbasids was Khorasan. It became an administrative region with the Sassanids. During this period, the eastern lands of Islamic geography were under the governorship of Khorasan. The region was governed by governors appointed from the center. With Tahirids, Horasan began to be governed autonomously. This continued with the Saffarî and Samani dynasties. This study is directed to the administration of the Khorasan region during the Abbasid period. In this study, firstly the Khorasan administration before the Abbasids was examined. Then the administration of the region at the time Abbassids was discussed. This study was concluded with the domination of the Seljuks in the region. In the study, the main sources were first examined, then modern studies were taken into account
