EUROPEAN UNION COMMON FOREING AND SECURITY POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND TURKEY`S ROLE

Abstract

The idea of political unity which will bring together the countries of Europe based on an ancient past as European states. Europe, living a great destruction with the Second World War, wants to regain its former power and authority. The association made in these contexts which have a more economic purpose could not be created a higher authority politically. The Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) created in this context to capture the desired political stability, nowadays these formations have stayed in the background and it couldn’t be developed due to the state's own interests. CFSP foundations were laid in 1992 with the Maastricht Treaty despite the arrival of the year 2015 it did not show any success. Middle East which described as a problematic region globally, to be close to Turkey pushed Turkey is an important point for the CFSP today as it was in the past. The idea is that we try to reveal in this article; CFSP is necessary for the Europe's security and this requirement is the importance of Turkey's position
